When I saw Sissoko and Winks in there I thought we were in for a tough night but both were outstanding.

Madrid predictably attacked our left side relentlessly in the first half but apart from Ronaldo's chance we held firm mostly thanks to some excellently timed tackles from Verts.

That Toni Kroos is some player though!

Regards the weekend, we should have Dembele and Rose available,  hopefully Davies too.  Still no Wanyama unless anyones heard different.

In the pre match interview on BT Sport with Poch, he was asked about Dembele, where he said during

the last training session Dembele started to feel pain, that's why he was withdrawn from playing.

This is a worry cos if it's the recurring ankle/foot problem then it seems to have become chronic, which

could mean he'll have to be carefully managed for the whole season, or even end up needing surgery.

Luckily for us, Winks has come back stronger and is proving his worth, but we're short on options in

midfield without  Wanyama  as well.

According to reports, Wanyama is back training this week and should feature in some capacity

this weekend.

Davies for me, deserves to keep his place if he recovers from his illness to face Liverpool.

Rose will probably be eased back slowly coming off the bench to regain match fitness after 10

months out and no pre-season.

While the scousers received a boost last night we will be a completely different proposition.

In reality we should beat them comfortably.

Like you should ever season I guess. 2012 the last time you won, 2011 the last time comfortably. Been on the end of some hidings in between.

We might not be winning too many of late, but the only game we lost was because a man was sent off against the champions elect and we are getting in to our rhythm now. Just be thankful Mane and Lallana are out.

No particular concerns with Lallana Bob but Mane out is a huge bonus.  He gave Davies a torrid afternoon last season.  Looked a complete mismatch and in fairness he's the only player to have done that.

Strange game to forecast on sunday.  It might as well be an away match for us which is no particular hindrance to us i believe but then again Liverpool always seem to put in a big performance against Spurs whatever their current form.

Its very difficult to know what side Poch will select due to injury status.  Dele should return but Wanyama is a mystery and Rose will probably need to be eased back after that game time on tuesday so maybe Davies will start IF he's over his sickness....Think i'll sit on the fence with the predictions.

Just read something from Danny Rose, saying he wants to thank the Spurs fans for the good reception given to him when he came on on tuesday night.

Whilst the timing of his interview was poor and the wrong thing to do he has apologized and i think the message is clear.  Give 100% every game and all is forgiven.  Its great having the two left back we have to choose from and finally after what seems like forever both are fit,  bar a minor illness.

Interesting you should say that about Lallana, from our point of view he is the player we have missed the most. He is the master of breaking up play and winning the ball back high up the pitch, no one is better at this in our team. He also adds a lot creatively with short ball play and movement.

One thing I have noticed with Mane out is we seem to be flowing better, less stagnant with Coutinho moving back up on the left. Like last season, we still have pace down the right but it's Salah. With Mane and Salah perhaps we were being too direct, but it looks right now. That also includes the team moving as a unit in defense, it looks less disjointed.

Some seem to think we were in a rut, but it was just a case of not putting chances away, we are not losing football matches, our issue last season was not creating chances. If I recall rightly, Spurs were drawing a lot of matches early last season but you felt the same way, as your team was playing well and in the end it was a decent season.

Very hard to pick this match, Spurs should win,  but I don't think it will be comfortable. Happy with a draw.

When we played you and lost 2-0 back after the New Year at Anfield Bob I had no complaints as your side played a blinder...however I was much aggrieved to see you get easily rolled over a week or two later.

This fixture was a draw last season if I remember correctly but there are two or three differences now.

Our side is much improved and more consistently very good and you have injuries to key players.

Of course Wemberleee as well although I'm tiring of that one.

See you in the Spice before the game any Spurs fans who are going!

loved the madrid game, well done to the team and travelling fans.

kane and llorente, took a while to get cracking with each other, but started to get it right,  hugo and his opposite were class, so pleased for that result.

this match, like the chances for spurs, liverpool, scare me with a fit mane, that lad is a match winner with the right crew around him.

Bad news being reported for both our central midfield players Wanyama & Dembele,

they both remain out injured for the foreseeable future with Wanyama having to go

see a knee specialist next week with the club still unsure what is the problem.

Dembele has suffered a set back with a new hip problem whilst training in Madrid.

It could mean that Dier & Winks will have to continue playing every match for now,

unless Sissoko or Dele are used in that role to free up some rest time for them.

Yes really bad news this.  Comes at a time when we desperately need our best players fit.

On a plus Lamela is back very soon.

I'm starting to feel pretty sure we're going to make a move for Barkley and it seems quite clear he wants to come to us.  With Dembele's age and fitness problem it makes sense.

Looking like a January signing for once!

Barkley is not good enough for the present Spurs squad. Watford, Brighton and Palace have better.

Under a top coach he has the potential to be a very good player.  Right age, English and able to buy on the cheap.  He's exactly what we'd be looking for.

He has the ability which has yet to be proven at the top level regularly.

The only problem I can envisage given he clearly wants to play under Poch is his brainless and greedy agent.

When a player only has six months left on his contract it is very much a buyers market.

Barkley would be a backward step for Spurs. Expensive, problematic and over-rated. There is better out there. I want to go forwards not buy problems.

I can see someone making him a stupid wage offer in January.

Yeah, City, Chelsea Man United as per usual, although City don't need him, Chelsea probably took umbrage at being messed about last window.  Who knows?

To be honest i think we go with whatever Pochettino thinks best.  Hard for me to say but he's even turning Sissoko around!  That i really didn't think could happen!!!

That is so right.

Most very good teams have a 'toughie' in the middle, Sissoko is developing into that player for Spurs. Has a lot of presence about him. Same as Pogba for Man U.

On another thought; I'd rather have Ramsey than Barkley any day. Now Wilshire is back Arsene/Ramsey might be tempted.

We won't be signing any gooners mate.

Spurs already have an oft injured midfielder struggling to fulfill his potential in Lamela. Ramsey is in the same mold. I'm not sure about Barkley though. A bit of a gamble in my mind, but if you can get him on the cheap its worth a roll of the dice.
