Bangkok/Pattaya to Siem Reap

Featured Replies

Has any board members made this trip overland lately and if so which way did you go about it? I'm aware that there are mini bus tours but all I keep reading online are bad reviews about them. could someone enlighten me on the best choice for an overland journey from either bangkok or Pattaya to Siem reap? Thanks in advance.

I have never heard of a scheduled "one vehicle" tour. Every tour I have heard of, whether purchased in KSR or Sukhumvit involves multiple "hand-off's"...bus to bus to van to van, ect.

No need for the mini bus adventure anymore...

There is an early morning direct bus from BKK Morchit all the way to Siem Reap. 750b last year.

call centre t. 1490 or 02 936 0657

You can also book online with thaiticketmajor.com

The usual border scams still apply, far better to obtain an e-visa online.

Easier to get to from Bangkok than Pattaya. The best way from Pattaya is a minivan.

As mentioned above, definitely get your visa before you go. When you cross the border, there are also many scams for transport.

If you plan in advance, air fare can be quite reasonable. Something to think about.
