Some info for USA citizens applying for Thai tourist visa in New Orleans.

This is directly from ROYAL THAI CONSULATE-GENERAL NEW ORLEANS, LA,

Answer to my questions below...

My Contact point was, [email protected]

My question to the consulate was,

I am in need of a multiple entry (30 day stay) Valid for one year tourist visa for Thailand.

If there is such a visa or something close to it.

I go to Thailand 5 or 6 times a year all just 30 to 35 day stays for my vacations from working here in USA offshore.

Can I apply for this type of visa, or something close to this type of visa at the consul in New Orleans???

Her reply was,

You could apply for a tourist visa which is good for 60 days each entry and you can get up to three entries that have to be used within 6 months.

The list of items you will need are on the website thaiembdc.org

you can schedule an appointment with me here in New Orleans to obtain the visa.

Thank You

Reply question from me,

How long does it take to process the paperwork for the Visa??

If I submit the application or have appointment on a Wednesday can I travel to Tailand on Friday??

just wondering so I can plan my departure accordingly.

Her answer was,

If you make an appointment and come in with all of your paperwork you leave my office with the visa so you could go the next day as long as you have it all together.

Thank You

So all in all good news for me,

I have not checked out the web sight above mentioned for paper work requirements thaiembdc.org

a click on it took me to the Washington DC Thai consulate website for some reason but will invastigate further on this.

I can get a triple Tourist entry, good for 60 days each entry. Valid for 6 months.

Can get visa same day if all paperwork in order, sounds like you get an appointment to get the visa.

Not just submit paperwork at a window and wait.

I think this will work perfect for me for six months then if needed at end of year I can just do 30 day stamp without any hassle at Phuket immigration for to many stamps in my passport for the year.

Hope this info helps somebody out there.

Will report again after I get the visa.

cheers

Just a small annotation. You are talking about an honorary consulate. They are often the ones with the best and friendliest service, in the US or elsewhere.

Sounds correct as so far I have had quick replys to my emails with good answers to my questions.

Now I just need to find the location of the office in New Orleans.

Hope its near to Bourbon street...LOL

It's in the Central Business District but that's real close to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. I'd guess 1.5 miles and less than 10 minutes cab ride.

Don't loose your cookies when you find out that Bourbon Street is actually made of concrete. :)
