Don Mega
To be honest it does sound a bit far fetched that in the land of "rarely do you see a trailer" the insurance companies stipulate they must be fitted with brakes otherwise your insurance is void yet in other countries where trailers are like A-holes (everyone has one) no such clause exists in the insurance policies other than the trailer must be roadworthy. Ace of Pop
Sounds funny to Me. The only changes ive noticed here over the years are that Cigarette Packets have pictures of Blue Plastic pipes on them and Brokers are all different, one contradicts the other.Plus Americans will over analyse a Coke Can...Not saying anyones miles off but what a fuss over F/A. The DMV in Canada states that over a certain GVW - 1000kg if memory serves - brakes required. Insurance company wants trailer to be legal and roadworthy. That being said home made - using a pickup truck box - is OK.

Yeah in my home country it is the same. what does not make sense here is that a 6x4 box/jetski/motorbike trailer etc etc supposedly needs brakes according to bazlmb.
