Review of NASA expo from Mummy Club.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to give everyone some additional info and tips if going to the NASA exhibit!

My 4 year old son and I went today. His cost was free (though I forgot to ask up to how old was free). My cost was 270฿ with my discount from my The
1 Card.

The exhibit itself is super cool. If you go on a weekday, go later in the day rather than early or be prepared for hundreds of loud kids coming in large group tours. Today there were probably 200 and the noise level was crazy. Leaving your ID at the counter will let you "rent" an audio guide that is touch screen with audio & video and comes in English or Thai for sure. Not sure about other languages. Note that the screaming kids were audible over the earphones. I'd recommend going after Noon as they cleared out considerably.

It's very chilly inside the hall so if you are prone to get cold, bring something to keep you warm inside.

They have lots of spacesuits on display and models of spacecraft including a front nose replica of the space shuttle. Once you leave the exhibit part, there are "rides" with the additional purchase of coupons right there. The cost for a child to ride all rides is ฿600 but you can take them separately.

The first one is a g-force simulator where it spins in a circle. Even though they don't do it as fast as the astronauts did I feared my kid would puke so we passed on that so I can't tell you how that went.
Cost: ฿150

Next was the simulator — which kids and adults can ride in. It seats four at a time and you go inside and get 3D glasses and it simulates lift off. The seats shake violently so if you are pregnant I wouldn't recommend it. But my 4 year old LOVED IT and I had fun too. It's about a 5 minute ride total. The lines are long when the schools are there which is why I suggest going after noon and before 4 when people start getting off of work. Also note, because this machine shakes quite a bit it was closed down for maintenance several times pushing back the wait time while the machine "cooled off" they said.
Cost: ฿250

The next thing was a just a photo box type thing where when you go inside it for photos, it looked like you were in a spacecraft with no gravity. They don't have a photographer so you must provide your own camera.
Cost: ฿50

The next "ride" was called Space Camp 5 Degree and the one my son had the best time on though the wait was long. Children are walked up three steps and put into a chair and are heavily secured by seat belts and straps. The operator then rotates the seat sideways and forwards and back to simulate how it would feel moving. Then they bring you over to a work station so you can simulate working in equipment in space. Like I said, super fun for the LO.
Cost: ฿150

Last thing was just a photo behind a cut out face of an full astronaut suit. Again, you must provide your own camera.
Cost: Free

Overall it was super fun, especially for any kid that's really into space like mine is.

It runs until February 1.

I went through it as part of a school field trip and would add one thing to the review above: Take your time going through it, as you cannot go back once you have passed from one section to another. We basically had to go through as fast as the fastest kid and ended up waiting for about an hour and a half for the bus.
