So I guess they have me clearly ID'd. When they ask you how your 3rd beer tasted last night and whether that nasty rash went away when you used that stuff the doctor prescribed, I'd ditch the phone, ID'd or not.

In 6+ months a Terrorist just puts any olde SIM into his bomb phone (it will still receive calls under the new legislation ) and gets his/her accomplass to trigger it from somewhere overseas. AND If they need to correspond anyone with half a brain can do it anonymously. These "fruit loops" cant be serious! IMHO it's just a regeneration of previously attempts to register which will be doomed to failure - The telecoms will not tolerate the loss of revenues from millions of phone users! I saw something on Thai social media the other day that said you can check if your SIM is registered by dialing True *151# AIS *141# dtac *102# To add... If you do this to dtac (add *9), you will get English. So, Dtac *102*9# Sorry don't know about true and ais

Great business idea, right up until the day the SWAT team beats down her door looking for the person using the phone registered in her name. A more likely plan would be phone theft, just for the SIMs, but that comes with its own set of problems.

There is no word about the existing SIMs (in the shops etc.) already being deactivated. But that does not mean they stay active forever. 1st of August will be the date of truth (will the script be run over the home location registers or not) Wait and see

First switch to English and then just go trough all settings and you will find language and notification settings. I can't find these settings. I see the menu to disable ads but this is a disabled and set to english already.

I see the menu to disable ads but this is a disabled and set to english already. go to Main page > Other Services > SMS Preference/Cancellation I can change everything for advertising here: but there is a second place where SMS language settings can be changed, and it's here: Main page > *700 One Number for Service > Changing IVR & SMS Language and this one is changing SMS language for USSD codes, at least I receive it in English. Don't select "change IVR & SMS language" it didn't work for me, I had to select and change IVR and SMS one by one
