There is an "office depot" next to Big C on Suhkimvit.

I'll try the Office Depot as none of the major supermarkets even stocked diaries nor did I have any joy at Silpaban

Sorry for leading you up the garden path with Silpaban Sid. I felt sure I'd seen them there. Just looked on Ebay and you can find them there for as cheap as 32 Baht with free shipping from Hong Kong.
