Australian man held in Philippines over teen girl's murder

MANILA (AFP) - Philippine police have arrested an Australian man over the "brutal" murder of a Filipina teenager he met on the Internet after her body was found in a motel room, officials said Wednesday.

The remains of 17-year-old Alona Alvarez were found by employees at a motel in the southern city of Dipolog on January 30.

Tourist Ali Ali, 42, confessed to killing the teenager "in self-defence", saying his "mind went blank", police said.

The pair had met in Dipolog for the first time just two days before the murder after talking online. Police said Ali flew to the Philippines purposely to meet Alvarez.

"Her face was so unrecognisable and horribly disfigured, the mortician had a hard time," police investigator Ronald Dingas told AFP.

"She suffered a very brutal death. It’s too much."

Alvarez had deep head wounds, had lost most of her teeth, and suffered a brain haemorrhage which ultimately led to her death by acute resipiratory failure, Dingas said, citing a police autopsy.

She was naked, and investigators also found sex toys and marijuana in the room.

Motel staff told police the Australian had checked into the room with Alvarez two days earlier, Dingas said.

Ali was arrested Sunday in the city of Dumaguete, 75 kilometrees (46 miles) away from Dipolog, Dumaguete police chief Superintendent James Gofoth told AFP.

The suspect, his knuckles heavily bruised, told police he attacked Alvarez after the victim bit his penis when asked to perform oral sex, Gofoth added.

"He said she bit his penis and even showed his penis to us," Gofoth said.

"He said he did it out of self-defence. He said his mind went blank."

"He was planning to escape to Manila," the officer added.

Ali was brought back to Dipolog where police filed a murder complaint against him before the local state prosecutor.

He faces a 40-year prison term if found guilty. A court appearance has not been scheduled.

Oh my god what animals people can be............R.I.P. young lady.

If convicted, he won't last long in a Philippine prison once the other prisoners find out what he's in for, and the guards will make sure they do.

RiP. This young girl was just looking for a better life & help support her family. Such a sad ending.

here is a first line self-defence lesson, don't go jamming your cock into the mouth of a 17 year old , who is not even fully grown and likely quite small,....because, yes for a number of reasons you could end up getting bitten and you might not like it.

i sincerely hope australia doesn't afford the time and expense of bringing this person back.

it will surely never be know exactly what transpired in this case, but what can be certain from the descriptions available, these were not "defensive" actions taken by the above named.

This animal will have a violent history - I am sure of it

although his future is very much in doubt - I don't think he will ever see the inside of a court room

Actually I don't know how you base your opinion. Having lived in the country, I would say that the macho culture and politics of the prison would accept that a woman who bit a man on his privates richly deserved her fate. From that point of view, he would probably be fine - there are plenty of girlfriend and wife-killers in prison in Phil.

His longevity in prison will depend on how he plays the politics in the prison, which group he turns out for, how he fits in, whether he obeys the code and a number of other things.

Of course he sounds like an Aussie he comes from Lakemba whistling.gif

Sure sounds like him, and ages figure out too... Interesting. If it is why was he released so fast? Seems like a recidivist.

Now confirm that. Unbelievable.

What a piece of S H I T he is, hope he gets his just desserts

Ali Ali....that's a good Aussie name.......NOT!

With a name like Ali Ali this monster doesn't sound Australian.

Yes, you are correct. Australian names are: Woljamidi, Woljamiri, Molyamidi, Kuluwara, Kuluwaran, Guluwarin, Kolaia, Arawari, Arawodi and many others. All the rest of you W-anchors are immigrants.

I am not really interested in what nationality this maggot is, hope he rots in a cell.

The question is not about his name and if it's sufficiently 'Australian', it's about how the <deleted> this mongrel got some form of early release. His sentencing judge said his chances of rehabilitation were remote, his behaviour was so despicable that other crims were lining up to give evidence against him....and yet, he's out, apparently unsupervised, with a passport, able to communicate on dating sites, travel and allegedly engage in the same , or worse, violence.

Who was protecting the interests of the public in these decisions? A young girl brutally killed because someone wasn't watching this guy.

Once released, are prisoners usually allowed to get a passport?

Good. Put him where he belongs. The same thing will happen to his teeth just before his first blow job in prison.

Once released, are prisoners usually allowed to get a passport?

and yet, i was once locked down on a fraudulent claim.

awwtralia good for immigrants bad for natives, "Since 1770"

If it appears likely this is the same guy...here's the seeming explanation. The linked article was from 2007, and it noted:

It is expected that Ali, who was ordered to serve a minimum of 12 years - less 2,830 days of pre-sentence detention - will appeal against his conviction.

2830 days of pre-sentence detention adds up to almost 8 years in and of itself. Then tack on the time from 2007 until 2015. And you've got more than his minimum sentence, and closer to his 15 year maximum.

Australian police and immigration, not to mention judicial system authorities, have some serious soul-searching to do. A man with this kind of a history - never should have been let out of the country. The police should have been all over him like a rash the moment he was released from prison - flock his rights. Probation authorities should have been screaming "alert, alert".

From the article: (article from 2007 I think (?))

"It is expected that Ali, who was ordered to serve a minimum of 12 years - less 2,830 days of pre-sentence detention - will appeal against his conviction"

That would leave him about 4.3 years to serve.

Mental world!

These internet romances seldom make it to the meeting stage...usually the "lady" asks for money in the first few conservations and gives up if no money is forth coming...sad for both parties involved...sounds like Aussie was a bit much for the young less experienced teen...may have bit his penis in her own self-defense...

Australian or "Australian"? Most likely an Arab with an Australian passport.
