Big bike registration when entering Malaysia temporary

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if it is still necessary to register the bike in Malaysia and get the sticker with a Malaysian plate number?

Yes, it was so two weeks ago when I went there. You also need your green book interpreted to English, the compulsory Malay insurance and and a valid drivers license.

Do you know the place where toget it when crossing at Sadao?

Yes after you have checked into Malaysia, on the right-hand side after you passed the tax free complex.

But the translation of the green book you have to do at a DLT office in Thailand.

Any suggestions on proper insurance to cover a big bike similar to 1st class insurance here in Thailand?

Lock that mother up. Big bike theft is rampant there. Make sure the bike is in a super secure area or move it every day or so.
