PATTAYA: -- A Minivan transporting passengers from Na-Jomtien and Pattaya to Bangkok, was involved in a crash with a coach at a u-turn exit on the Sukhumvit Road in North Pattaya on Monday Night.

No injuries to anyone in the coach was reported but a total of 6 passengers in the Minivan sustained minor injuries and the driver of the minivan, Khun Daengyam aged 38 was seriously injured and may not pull-through according to medical staff at Banglamung Hospital, where all the injured were taken.

Police investigators determined the coach was preparing to U-turn towards Laem Chabang when the left rear side of the coach was struck by the minivan causing major front-end damage to the minivan and relatively minor damage to the coach.

The only you can say about this driver, he drive more carefully than before, if he can drive again.

Yes, they drive too fast and recklessly. Add that to a large coach making a U-Turn likely blocking the overtaking lane and limited lighting.

It is hard to make U-Turns on Sukhumvit in this area.

No surprise here, anypne taking these vans to Bangkok are on a suicide mission.

I would be interested to know if the minivan driver was using his mobile phone at the time of this incident

Those U turn areas send shivers down my spine every time I pass them. Ridiculous thing to have in this day and age

It's a bit of a guess, but those coaches seldom use the orignal exit-lane of a U-turn otherwise they won't be able to make the U-turn in one move.
Probably the coach used the right "through traffic" lane and that was misjudged by the minivan driver.

However, it happened again......a minivan in a major-crash and what I guess could also be guessed by the minivan driver....I suppose.
