Cancelling work permit

Featured Replies

I have resigned from my former job and am due to start work again 1st of March with a different employer.

The old company have my work permit and they just emailed me that to cancel it they need my original passport sent in by EMS to bangkok office. (I live outside bangkok) i don't really want to send in my passport with the post.

I found on this site a form to fill in to cancel work permit. Did I understand correctly if I give the company power of attorney, they can go ahead without my passport.

Ps my visa status won't be affected by the cancellation as I obtained the wp on an extension based on marriage on a non o visa.

Also if my work permit isn't cancelled by the time the new company applies for a new one, will I have any problems?

Cheers for taking the time to answer!

The power of attorney should be enough along with the work permit cancellation form. This download has both: http://wp.doe.go.th/wp/images/form/form_Return.pdf

If the old work permit has not been canceled the new one will not be issued.
