Extend tourist visa in Ayutthaya

Featured Replies

If I am traveling around and I happen to be checking out the historic sites in Ayutthaya when my visa expires, is it possible to go to the local immigration and get it extended?

You can do your extension there if you have a local address to put on the application form.

I can use the address of the hotel i'm staying at right?

If you have a visa exempt entry or totrusit visa you can extend for 30 more days at any immigration office, at anytime before expiration. Cost is Bt 1,900.

Here's some information for anyone else wanting to extend a tourist visa. You make at be in their computer system for "24 hour notification ". So, you need to check in to your hotel first and make sure they do the immigration notification immediately online, if they haven't signed up to do online notifications, find another hotel. Once immigration can find your notification on their system it takes less than 15 minutes.

That maybe specific to the area or office where you are staying, because from multiple sources, nothing like that has been ever reported.

I'm reporting it about Ayutthaya immigration. Each immigration officer had their own computer terminal and everything they do is online. If the information is nationwide I don't know. If you don't have some sort of notification in their system either 90 day or 24 hour they won't serve you.
