August 22, 200619 yr Hi Guys, I have serial Tourist visas and extensions in my English Passport. I recently had an application for another tourist visa rejected in Singapore. I was told I had to stay out of Thailand for 2 months before I could apply for a new Visa. I came back in on a 30 day. I now wish to apply for a Business Visa with a view to obtaining a work permit. I have invitation letter to work for a Thai company. Does anybody know anything about a limit on "serial tourist visa's" or weather I will be rejected for my Business Visa on grounds of not being out of Thailand for 2 months first. Help appreciated
August 22, 200619 yr I believe the decision on visa to be granted is with the consular officer. Singapore embassy is known to be a bit tough with the rules, probably assuming on serial TR-visa some tax-evasion or illegal working. Non-imm B with a proper letter and documentation, IMHO, should be ok.
August 22, 200619 yr Author Thanks Axel, Do you know if there is any actual policy on serial Tourist visa's or is it up to dicretion of embassy staff? THe 2 month suggestion sounded a bit specific to be plain discretion of staff.
August 22, 200619 yr No, Mushky I never came accross any specific rule. Singapore might refuse today and Penang grants the visa tomorrow.
August 23, 200619 yr K.L. or Penang are often a better choice than Singapore. Like everthing else in Thailand ... They don't all sing from the same songbook. Naka.
