Obtaining a Residence Certificate

Featured Replies

I am hoping that someone can assist me with some advice.

I have just purchased a new car and am wanting to obtain a residence certificate to enable the car to be registered in my name.

I have visited the local immigration office and was advised that I need a tabien baan to be able to do this.

This is where I become uncertain of my position.

I bought a house some time ago in a company name and have on hand a blue tabien baan relating to the house....the book is blank other than first page.

Given the circumstance, would it be appropriate for me to produce this book to the immigration department, or would it not be an issue to them..... ???

I have been living here for a number of years on a retirement visa.

If you have had some experience with this subject, or are aware of the procedures and possible issues, please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks ..........

You could use the blue book along with a utility bill in your name to prove you are living there.

What they are wanting is proof of residence.

Thanks for that.....much appreciated.

I did have the usual bills, TOT, True etc with me but they requested the tabien baan or statement from the house 'owner'.

My reluctance to produce this is if the status of purchase/ownership is questioned.....if you get my drift.

Thanks again.......

Once again where ?

I get your drift but Immigration could care less about how you own property, they just want to see that you own it. Bring in your latest company "update" which you should be doing annually and along with the Blue book will satisfy Immigration's requirement
