difficult story:

I did squats and deadlifts with obviously too much weight.

Some hours afterwards I wolfed down big pieces of chicken and may overate.

Never have problems with food or back before.

Result:

my lower back hurts, I think that muscle that runs parallel to the spine on both sides.

I have a lot gas into my guts, I am sometimes total blown up and fart a lot, can't really get it under control with the food I eat or don't eat. But not eating at all helps.

Tiger Balm or other muscle pain cremes don't seem to help, or not much at all.

It is now 1 week with sometimes better sometimes worse. I think over all it gets a bit better.

It is not that I am crying from terrible pain, it is more like a medium inconvenience and it cause bad sleeping.

What I wonder do I have a problem with digestion and it causes me back pain as well.

Or do I have a back problem that makes my digestion upset?

The pain in the back feels like bad blood flow.....like you may have in the neck after a stressful day.

Interesting also 500 mg Aspirin or small amounts of Alcohol let the back pain disappear almost immediately which would support the idea of blood flow problem.

It seems it gets slowly better so the problem will disappear at some time.

Any idea about it? Or tips and tricks to accelerate the healing?

A high protein body building diet 250 to 350 g of protein can cause a gas problem. The muscle strain is from the squats and deadlifts most likley.your form needs to be corrected and or you are being over zealous and these are to exercises that you want to maintain control over. Try rehabing with smith press deadlifts and a sled -leg press both with light weights and only after pain is mostly gone. Anytime there is pain either sharp or a dull ache down the leg could indicate a disc injury....so best to MRI.

take 500mg paracetamol, every 4-6 hours for a few days, rest, and maybe some heat for the back. ; most back just resolves slowly self-limiting, don't take aspirin.

your bloating, seems very likely not related, maybe you could find some simethicone tabs , though could be a dozen different things, depending on your eating habits, medical history, etc

sure for the muscle strain, did much higher weight than usual and most probably made some form mistake by doing so.....

The gas problem is not related with the protein, which I reduced to see if it makes a difference...does not.

Unfortunately I have neither smith press nor leg press. But I'll be for 1 week down the south on the racing bike, if that bent position doesn't cause a problem it will give the back time to recover.

yes it seems it gets slowly better on it self.

bloating: During the day I am either OK with no backpain and no bloating or I have bloating AND backpain.

So I wonder if one causes the other.....backpain makes my nervous system upset? Or bloating causing myself holding my back in an unnatural position which causes my already strained muscles to hurt?

(I look a bit like pregnant, but I am not (male).

No medial history (beside 20 years ago I tear off one Processus spinosus (if I got it right from the picture) or the top of it, in the lower back, but it "reattached" itself and I didn't ever feel it again so I think that isn't a problem).

Eating habits: For 1-2 month I only ate dinner (just once a day food) to get rid of some weight and now I ate a lot more to gain some muscle in combination with hard training. That would explain that I overate. But since than I am very careful to eat only things that are easy to digest, small amounts/moderation at one time, etc.. Overeating should resolve itself in hours and not last 1 week.

Usually I have a stomach like a pig.....no matter what I eat I never get any problems....eating huge amounts of fat things, or lots fiber or not eating or whatever never caused any problem in the last 44 years. (and I did lots of stupid things, that why I am so surprised....)

Why no Aspirin? I used it only 2 or 3 times in the night when I couldn't sleep. I thought it won't help much but every pain was gone in something like half an hour. That really surprised me. 500 mg Aspirin doesn't do wonder normally.

Forgot: only dull ache in the two muscles that runs parallel to the spine. And maybe a little sometimes on the side (these you would use for side bends).

no pain at all in the legs.

Did 1 hour on the racing bike on the trainer in the room and even with a strong bent back: no pain or much less, and bloat reduced (farting it out whistling.gif ).

So I think (hope) spine/discs are OK.

go to a good deep tissue massuer ...def related to your back injury and stop lifting until its gone away , cycling fine if no pain ...

I just did some light exercises and found out that the aircon is blowing cold on my lower back, which when sweaty is ice cold (no TShirt).

Maybe that cold air caused it?

my back injury hurt for a few month, something like 20 years ago and than never again, so I doubt it is the problem. And today at light exercise I can clearly feel only these two muscles hurt, not the spine. Some massage might be really good idea.....
