Metapod
Got 3month Non-B and Work Permit. Where is the easiest place to get the 1year Non-B done if based in BKK?
paz
From BKK you can go to Laos or Penang Malaysia, and the cost and time spent would be practically the same.
Metapod
I figured they would be the most likely options. Anywhere else to consider? Not a big fan of Vientiane.
paz
Sorry I correct myself, for multi-entry (1 yr) non-imm 'B' visa your only choice is Penang with 8 months remaining on your work permit. No other choices is in nearby countries.

Martouf
If you have 8 months left on your work permit you can just go to immigration and get an extension for 8 months. That what I did. It costs 1900 baht

It costs 1900 baht The issue is that extensive paperwork is needed, and for non-teachers, taxes paid for a minium salary of Bt 50,000. Because not everyone is able to meet the above requirement, they have to go get multi-entry non-imm 'B' visa.

Are you saying I can just extend my Single Non-B 3month Visa inside Thailand? If so, I am tempted to just do that. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind a short trip to a nearby country. Just curious as to what my options are. Penang seems to be the favorite choice.

Then with a re-entry permit you can travel to places when you better like not when visa expiration dictates.
