If you've got school-aged kids: Bangkok.

If you work (professional): Bangkok.

If you're young and into bars, clubs or bands: Bangkok

If you're a foodie: Bangkok

If you like galleries, exhibitions and other cultural pursuits: Bangkok

If shopping is your thing: Bangkok

Relaxing, retiring, beaches and nature: Anywhere but Bangkok.

Add to all those BKK points: And you have the money. Ain't a cheap city. Otherwise I tend to agree, it's OK for the yuppies and hippies. Although I would choose another country altogether, if I were after those kinds of things.

The smartest and best answer i have seen on any forum concerning Thailand. I live in a undisclosed location. I did not move to Thailand to hang around thousands of foreigners. I came here to live with the Thais. I think this place is called Thailand not Farlangland. Same answer. STAY AWAY!

Not my area.

Nope.

Won't even tell you where I am.

Stay away!

Spot on lads!

As for me; as far away from all of these falang enclaves! I live approx. 75 km outside Korat City. No 7/11's, no smog, very little noise and no falangs complaining about all things Thailand! Paradise!

Everybody's different, but my advice to the OP is to move around until you find a place that feels right for YOU. It helps if you have a Thai partner who can introduce you to people, help you to settle in and be there for company.

And as long as in these remote thailand places they will beleive in fairies i5 will be heaven
