A year and a half after Cambodian police dismissed American tourist Katherine Ann Grgich’s death as the result of an unlucky tumble, Interpol has launched a search for her suspected killer.

In September 2013, the American masseuse’s body was discovered alongside a hiking trail in Koh Rong where she was holidaying. Injuries to the front and back of her skull were initially determined by police to have been incurred during a lethal fall.

But less than a month later, the Sihanoukville officials reversed their position and named Yann Yoeun, a 34-year-old Takeo native, as the sole suspect in the California-native’s murder. Not long after the death, Yann’s wife was found attempting to sell a digital camera that matched one Grgich was seen with on the day of her murder, according to California newspaper Desert Sun, citing police reports.

The at-large suspect’s name was just added this month to the Interpol database, which cited that he is wanted on charges of “robbery with aggravating circumstances (death of victim)’’.

Interpol in Cambodia and the Ministry of Interior could not be reached.
