Change of address after extension of stay

Featured Replies

One year retirement extension of stay done at Chang Wattana yesterday. Plan move to Pattaya from Bangkok in 2 months.

What are the exact paperwork requirements and timings related to change of address?

Do I have to fill out any change of address form and submit at Pattaya(if so, please provide link to form), or can I report change of address at time of 90 day report.

For 90 day report, can this be done at Pattaya or have to come to Bangkok everytime for this? See a lot of opinions, maybes, ifs, buts, etc here, but does anyone know the facts for sure?

Is any proof of new address required? Is a receipt from a guesthouse acceptable?

I am a former resident of Bangkok who moved to Jomtien. (I have now moved away from there, about a year ago).

1. No need for you to do anything to advise Bangkok Immigration that you are leaving.

2. I believe that you are required to report a new address within 7 days, so go in to the Chonburi Immigration office on Jomtien Beach Soi 5 as soon as is convenient for you, They aren;t going to know exactly when you left Bangkok, or exactly where you have slept for the last few nights. Take your passport. That Immigration office DOES require a letter from your landlord/hotel manager etc. I don't know if there is a form that they require you to complete or not. There is no charge. At my present Immigration Office (Amnat Charoen) the "90 Day" thing is now completely computerized.

Normally you can wait until the your 90 day report is due. I am not sure what Jomtien immigration's policy is on this.

You could go in with a TM28 change of address form to ahead of your report date to see if they want it. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/tm28.pdf

Besides the guest house receipt you may need a letter from them stating you are staying there on a long stay basis.

There have been recent reports of some offices insisting you have to do your 90 day reports where you got your extension even after doing a change of address. But I don't believe Jomtien is one of those.

If you mean the TM28 form link. It is a PDF file, It may download it instead of you being able to view it dependent on your browser settings,

tm28.doc

I meant "completely computerized" if you are standing in their office. There are no blank "90 Days" forms on the counter. I did not mean that they accept 90 Days notifications by E-mail.
