February 20, 201511 yr I'm going to BKK soon and I need to purchase a new MacBook Pro w/ Retina. The retail price alone is 200 bucks cheaper than what I can get here in the Philippines and with VAT refund it will be a savings of 400 bucks. So yes, it is a good idea for me to buy in Bangkok. I guess I will just live with the thai script on the keys as I hear no one stocks the English only models and the TH online store doesnt do the VAT refund. So where is the best bet for me to find the latest stock and a store that can provide the VAT refund form and allow payment with a US credit card? Will they actually negotiate the cost lower than retail? How about iStudio? English would be nice. Thanks guys.
February 20, 201511 yr Author Actually it turns out the student discount from the online TH apple store is more than the VAT refund (thanks to the other thread I saw this info at). So I'm thinking about ordering online from the edu store and shipping it to my hotel that way I'll get the proper keyboard and it's even cheaper and I don't have to hassle with a VAT refund they can keep their VAT.
