One hurt after bus crash in front of temple in Patong

Phuket: A motorbike driver was seriously hurt when a bus carrying 13 Chinese tourists crashed near the front of the Buddhist temple at the bottom of Patong Hill on Friday evening (February 20).

A bus coming from Ranong crashed in front of the Suwankiriwong Temple at the foot of Patong Hill at about 7:20pm Friday (February 20).

The motorbike driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment as police described his injuries as "serious". Meanwhile, none of the 13 Chinese tourists were harmed during the incident and were transferred to a new bus.

A path has been cleared for pedestrians and the bus is expected to be removed soon.
