BKK Post this morning says they are now not going to give beck the 700odd million as it has already been spent on buildings.

AMLO also says that they have no authority to seize anything from a temple as they would from an individual or company.

it is comforting that Buddhist temples and monks are above the law. Maybe if they could be above politics as well.

Then try the really difficult level of the game - above materialist grasping....

If ever a country needed a Henry VIII, famed for abolishing the monasteries, this is it.

yes , religious persecution is always useful to get a country on the path to righteousness. It really made the Catholics into paragons of virtue, didn't it?

if you wait a few years, the Islamics will be happy to oblige you.... (I avoided the word "muslims"). Careful what you wish for...

BANGKOK: -- Troops and police were deployed Saturday morning at Wat Pakam Bhasicharoen to maintain peace and order after the activist abbot Buddha-issara called on all Buddhists to boycott the Sangkha Buddhism Council for its ruling yesterday to confirm the monkhood status of Phra Dhammachayo, abbot of the Dhammakaya temple.

Phra Buddha-issara, the abbot of Wat Or-noi in Nakhon Pathom, posted on his Facebook calling on all Buddhists to boycott the supreme Buddhism council when it did not defrock Phra Dhammachayo on alleged embezzlement charge pressed on him a decade ago.

“Stop offering alms, show no respect to them, and don’t speak to them” were what the activist abbot called, and urged all Buddhists to gather at Wat Pakam Bhasicharoen to protest.

By noon today the activist monk arrived at the Paknam Bhasicharoen temple with a number of followers and a basket of offerings to Phra Phrommoli, a member of the council, and the assistant to acting supreme patriarch His Holiness Somdet Phramaharatchamangkhlachan.

Phra Buddha-issara reportedly handed over a petition to the senior monk voicing disagreement to the ruling of the Sangkha Council which is chaired by the acting Supreme Patriarch who is also abbot of Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen.

There was no untoward incident during the peaceful meeting.

The activist abbot of Wat Or-noi later delivered the basket he brought as offering to the assistant to the acting supreme patriarch before returning to his temple.

The offerings included a pair of slippers, a stone mortar, underpants, and dok mai chan ( artificial bouquet for cremation ceremony).

The council’s ruling yesterday was a reconfirmation of the ruling made in 2000 which reaffirms Phra Dhammachayo’s monkhood status.

Yesterday, the council’s spokesman and member Phra Prommethi, pleaded with all parties concerned not to raise Phra Dhammachayo’s issue for discussion again pointing that the country is in the process of reconciliation.

They should have defrocked this idiot too,
He would have to be the most evil and dangerous person in Thailand, he is the devil himself.

WOW..

This is a guy that wanted to make rice framing sustainable by stating his action plans below.

You epitomize the PTP. Disrespect the majority and ignore any initiate to help the poor to further the regime of an unelelected criminal while purporting to help the poor and respecting the majority.

This enemy of the state as you suggest offered

1. Better quality of agriculture products from suitable land to fit the demand of markets and consumers.

2. Ensure better irrigation to the point of almost all arable land must be irrigated.

3. Using Farmers and Agriculture Council to sell the commodities instead of the government

4. Coming up with new quality standard to fit the consumer and market demands - the rice is from Na Prang - hard rice to chew, even rice soup turned bland, Jasmine rice or other local variety are better ... this has been ruined by rice pledges which turned to be frauds - no money as rice left unsold - farmers collapsed by populist systems

5. Reviving more R & D on agriculture products - Sang Yod is 150 Baht per kg, Black fragrant rice is 200 Baht per kg and even rice germinate is 1000 Baht per kg while the Na prang rice is 6 Baht per kg.

6. More training about the soil and solution for both soil and water + better way to fertilize the land and used water + soil + fertilizer at minimum cost - need to learn the habit of the land and plant

7. Better organic agriculture ... BAAC has given fertilizer that make strong and green leaves without ears that suit for vegetable that demands strong and green leaves

8. Need more geologists to deal with soil - at least 5 men per commune, about suitable soil for the land.

9. Production cost cutting - no more bandwagons that ruin the soil good air, good gene, and good maintenance with little necessary cost.

10. Cheap fertilizer to end the need for retailers that suck the blood of farmers.

11. reviving the National Fertilizer Factory run by Farmer Council because those fertilizer merchants and fertilizer companies never want to see farmers liberated by cheap fertilizers.

12. Better land reforms - politicians and billionaires better sacrifice much of their land to help those landless farmers run by Farmer council to purchase and sell at the market prices. Heavy land tax imposed for those who hold too much land.

13. Need to reinforce the maximum rent rates since the land leasing for farming nowadays has reach Myriads of Baht per rai per year instead of just 3-5 Baht per rai per year as happened 60 years ago.

14. Need to set up the local barns and the plane to dry the agriculture product for each commune. Ready to sell to agriculture council to store in the barns and warehouses and sold when prices are right - profits after the expenditure on storage must be returned to farmers.

15. Each family must grow tree for wood and firewood for their children to make the house on their own ... even Isan people manage to get wood to make a new house from the rows of trees at the end of their ancestor paddy. This is their assets of security.

16. Each farmer family should have just 5 rai of land to grow rice, orchard, fishing and livestock. The proportion is up to the land condition.

17. Farm Council must collect the agriculture product by themselves without relying on the middle men who keep cheating farmers - this is a very reason why Luang Poo Buddha isara are on the sniper cross-hair as this movement hurts so many middle men.

18. Growing more Khao Hom Nin since the rice germination part is 1000 Baht per kg ... we can come up our own value add products if we know how to do.

20. Need pension funds for farmers but those who are eligible for farmer pension funds are those who have passed through the training to add more knowledge to boost values of agriculture products

21. Need production, marketing, financial, accountant for farmers so we can get farmers with knowledge of bankers.

22. As BAAC has betrayed farmers, it is about the time to set up their own version of Agriculture and Farmer banks to function as the agents to purchase the land (AKA land bank) and allow the farmers to pay the installment for the land to grow their products - paying the installment with rice.

23. Need education tax to finance education funds and subsidize the free education as the part of welfare packages from the cradle to grave.

24. Need at least 40% quota for education of farmers' children at the collate levels.

25. Need to train farmers about how to deal with toxic chemical without ruining their own health.

26. Promoting and strengthening the local culture and tradition to prevent national disunity of brothers pitting against brothers ... need PAD and UDD men to make a reconciliation through the ceremony such as wedding, and working in the temples

27. Need a free TV media to allow farmers and agriculture men to make their voice heard.

28. Need specialized schools for farmers

29. Making farmers and the honorable occupation

But a guy that ignores the majority after elections and kills and injuries countless Thai citizens to further his agenda and proposes a rice policy that does not support the poorest 2.59 million rice farmers is AOK in your books.

PTP logic in its extreme...

Well that list dosnt really amount to much when you look over it.

Devoid of explanation and meaningless without

2. Ensure better irrigation to the point of almost all arable land must be irrigated.

Whos going to pay for this and maintenance and how ?

3. Using Farmers and Agriculture Council to sell the commodities instead of the government

Then farmers would be subject to free market rates and no set prices, or does it ?

No idea what hes realy talking about here, something to do with the type of rice and prices or something.

5. Reviving more R & D on agriculture products - Sang Yod is 150 Baht per kg, Black fragrant rice is 200 Baht per kg and even rice germinate is 1000 Baht per kg while the Na prang rice is 6 Baht per kg.

Again what is he suggesting ?

6. More training about the soil and solution for both soil and water + better way to fertilize the land and used water + soil + fertilizer at minimum cost - need to learn the habit of the land and plant

Is he talking about farming education and crop soil comparability ?

7. Better organic agriculture ... BAAC has given fertilizer that make strong and green leaves without ears that suit for vegetable that demands strong and green leaves

Always room for improvement in organic farming is he selling BAAC here becuase it looks like it

8. Need more geologists to deal with soil - at least 5 men per commune, about suitable soil for the land.

5 per commune is silly thats literally thousands of geologists i cant see that being needed

9. Production cost cutting - no more bandwagons that ruin the soil good air, good gene, and good maintenance with little necessary cost.

What the heck does that mean ?

10. Cheap fertilizer to end the need for retailers that suck the blood of farmers.

Cheap from where China ? and how good is this cheap option re yield vs cost ?

11. reviving the National Fertilizer Factory run by Farmer Council because those fertilizer merchants and fertilizer companies never want to see farmers liberated by cheap fertilizers.

I assume hes talking about a change in the board/ownership

12. Better land reforms - politicians and billionaires better sacrifice much of their land to help those landless farmers run by Farmer council to purchase and sell at the market prices. Heavy land tax imposed for those who hold too much land.

This sounds pretty communist hmmm politicians and billionaires and people with too much land ? we know who holds the most land and they qualify on all three counts so take it from them if you dare

13. Need to reinforce the maximum rent rates since the land leasing for farming nowadays has reach Myriads of Baht per rai per year instead of just 3-5 Baht per rai per year as happened 60 years ago.

Has he never heard of inflation or location location location and supply and demand ?

14. Need to set up the local barns and the plane to dry the agriculture product for each commune. Ready to sell to agriculture council to store in the barns and warehouses and sold when prices are right - profits after the expenditure on storage must be returned to farmers.

Is he talking about the mountain boonies here or what ? most that i know have these arrangements and facilities

15. Each family must grow tree for wood and firewood for their children to make the house on their own ... even Isan people manage to get wood to make a new house from the rows of trees at the end of their ancestor paddy. This is their assets of security.

im all for more trees but Firewood ? what about using trees to hold back soil erosion ?

16. Each farmer family should have just 5 rai of land to grow rice, orchard, fishing and livestock. The proportion is up to the land condition.

Another communist idea, nothing really commercial about a 5 rai plot its survival but thats about it.

17. Farm Council must collect the agriculture product by themselves without relying on the middle men who keep cheating farmers - this is a very reason why Luang Poo Buddha isara are on the sniper cross-hair as this movement hurts so many middle men.

First thing I can get behind.... although its pretty obvious the middle man reduces the farmers takings

18. Growing more Khao Hom Nin since the rice germination part is 1000 Baht per kg ... we can come up our own value add products if we know how to do.

no comment

20. Need pension funds for farmers but those who are eligible for farmer pension funds are those who have passed through the training to add more knowledge to boost values of agriculture products
t.

So pensions for trained farmers, ok so whos going to pay for this pension and wheres the money coming from, taxes the farmers pay ?

21. Need production, marketing, financial, accountant for farmers so we can get farmers with knowledge of bankers.

He must mean education, I think he means the funds to educate farmers in all the afore mentioned skills must be allocated

22. As BAAC has betrayed farmers, it is about the time to set up their own version of Agriculture and Farmer banks to function as the agents to purchase the land (AKA land bank) and allow the farmers to pay the installment for the land to grow their products - paying the installment with rice.

Is he suggesting bartering land for rice ? okaayyy

23. Need education tax to finance education funds and subsidize the free education as the part of welfare packages from the cradle to grave.

Ok now we are in the realms way outside farming and into social services and the cost economics

24. Need at least 40% quota for education of farmers' children at the collate levels.

No idea what this means

25. Need to train farmers about how to deal with toxic chemical without ruining their own health.

Covered by farming education and training

26. Promoting and strengthening the local culture and tradition to prevent national disunity of brothers pitting against brothers ... need PAD and UDD men to make a reconciliation through the ceremony such as wedding, and working in the temples

arranged marriage's perhaps ??.... Just silly

27. Need a free TV media to allow farmers and agriculture men to make their voice heard.

And just who is going to foot the bill for a TV station ?

28. Need specialized schools for farmers

They have them but agree they can use more

29. Making farmers and the honorable occupation

Its a Thai cultural perception thing... in other countries farmers are highly respected, it wont change here.

But a guy that ignores the majority after elections and kills and injuries countless Thai citizens to further his agenda and proposes a rice policy that does not support the poorest 2.59 million rice farmers is AOK in your books.

PTP logic in its extreme...

Need need need popped out quite a bit there, some of the rest is pretty hard to make sense of and overall its a pretty strange and somewhat repetitive list.

Its hardly a sustainable action plan or even a plan since it dosnt cover the costing the savings etc

Its just a list which is just made up out of bits of articles and cobbled together by you by the looks of it.

You did just that didnt you ? laugh.png

Well that list dosnt really amount to much when you look over it.

It was devised from the King of Thailand's sustainable rice management strategy so I think it is a wonderful and sustainable scheme.

Do you prefer an unsustainable policy that ensures the poorest 2.59 million farmers get nothing while millers and warehouse owners get really rich?

As stated at the beginning, The Monk is not the most evil person in Thailand when compared to UDD leaders that drag dead bodies onto stage against the wished of their families. He is simp,y a guy a that is trying to ensure farmers have a sustainable future.

Which you are happy to attack because like the UDD you don't want that. You want them to be dependent on the PTP to ensure they vote for them next election.

Not his plan then is it ? facepalm.gif

Prove its sustainable, theres nothing there that costs out anything.

Just where did i say hes evil..... hes a pest and not much of a Monk though.

Already told you twice i dont give a rats about the UDD PTP or DEMS, and continually accusing and trolling others of being so when they challenge your drivel is just childish,.... but unsurprising.

You'll just have to deal with the fact I think most of the time you just talk a load of rubbish and enjoy calling you out on it. thumbsup.gif

Troops deployed at Paknam Bhasicharoen as activist monk urging boycott of Sangkha Council

21-2-2558-15-41-50-wpcf_728x413.jpg

Have you actually read about this temple that he is complaining about ?

You know the one where the abbot was keeping money and land in his own name, that the late supreme patriarch no less complained about, the one which has got the 700 odd million of money embezzled from a credit union and wont give it back, which is said to be the richest temple in the country that encourages followers to donate in order to get a better next life, which has just been stopped from building a multi billion baht extension on forest land and has denied it was them doing it.

Everything this huge temple has been doing and does is against the principles of Buddhism and you are vilifying the one who comes out and says so, and why ?

Because he helped bring down your lovely Yingluck and her crooked brother who richly deserved to be ousted.

Get over it, he is one of the good monks who does good works and in this instance he is standing up against those who would subvert Buddhism.

The guy is a hero but the red shirts cant see it. Now the guy AGAIN goes for a worth cause and they would normally probably have agreed with the cause. But because he has brought down the corrupt government they loved they can't look past the facts. Typical red sighted farangs.

The only reason the guy had armed guards was because he was under attack by an armed terrorist wing of the government. These attacks were never stopped by the police and they could not find anyone (guess who was in power) Then the army took over and all of a sudden the guys could be traced and got caught... surprise surprise. For me that was a big sign that these terrorists indeed were protected by the likes of Charlem (an other hero of the red sighted mass.. probably a shining example too of alcohol use among farang redshirts)

Of course he had no ill intent, it was his good intentions to share with others the ill gotten gains. A man of peace and solitude or one who has scant regard for honesty and truthfulness. And the Police, well what can one say. I am willing to give them praise if they act without fear of favour but with this, they have lost me. And the Supreme Council, there is nothing to be said as their actions speak louder than words.
