Temperatures in Thailand will increase at the end of February

BANGKOK, 26 February 2015 (NNT)-The Meteorological Department has forecast that Thailand will receive lower precipitation and become warmer during the day.

The high pressure system moving toward the Northeast of Thailand from China is expected to bring thunderstorms to the region from February 28th- March 2nd.

The North will remain cold during the same period in the morning. The temperature will vary between 13-22 degrees Celsius and rise to 34 degrees Celsius at midday.

The temperature will rise slightly higher in the Central Plains. The lowest and the highest forecast will be from 22 to 38 degrees Celsius with thundershowers predicted in 10% of the area.

The weather conditions in the South of Thailand will be similar to the central region. The lowest temperature will be 23 degrees Celsius and it will reach 33 degree Celsius during the day. Maximum wave heights have been forecast to reach 1-2 meters in the Gulf of Thailand.

Here goes my precious money going to pay for the bloody air-condition.

Had it good up to now.......lower electricity bills.

But unfortunately, good things don't last long.

My reduced electric bill due to using less air was offset some by my use of electric heaters (CM). biggrin.png

Costas, have you considered the plight of the millions of soon to be sweating, disenfranchised voters through out the land?

Expect high availability of blankets and cold weather clothing at local markets. No need until the next disaster strikes same time late this year.

It will costas much for me to run the air conditioner as two fans.smile.png

I don't think disenfranchised voters are something he worries too much about.coffee1.gif

It is always a good thing when the government advises people of a potential temperature increase, as in about a week, we will be entering the "HOT" season, when we will be warned to conserve water, and which usually lasts until the "RAINY" season when we will be warned about possible flooding etc etc.

Forewarned is forearmed.

And there will be no floods after the hot season is over - guaranteed this year, as Prague also reports - and Prague is a capitalist and enlightened dict-oratorory capital (speaker of European weather) - that knows everything about everything.

And guess what, they'll keep increasing throughout March, and probably April too.

And also look out for the "hottest day of the year" warning: it will be the day when the sun is directly overhead in central Thailand. Never mind if that might be a rainy day, or a windy day, or some other relatively cool day, they'll still say it will be the hottest.

Bad things don't last either, enjoy the Junta whilst you can.

Doesn't this happen every year?

Please don't confuse the issue - it's all about treating the Thai populace as children who need to be constantly reminded that their elders and betters know what is happening and are in control of events.........................

Apparently the government isn't doing enough, as you noted earlier -- perhaps the government should be reminding people now that it will get cold again next winter.

I am still shocked how my 55,000 BTU machine cools my spacious living room, which has glass sliders on 2 walls (and 80% curtains), CHEAPER than the 12,000 BTU unit does my small home office. The 55,000 BTU unit is 1.5 years old and the 12,000 unit is 8 years old (at least).

This is not apples to apples comparison, but I have looked at this for more than a year and I can say that the newer machine works much more efficiently. If I work in the living room as opposed to the office for the same amount of time the electric bill is lower. The room is much larger and more exposed to the sun, but the newer Mitsubishi machine is great.

Its already happened! Today very hot.

So these people get paid to forecast the weather? Seems like they tell us about it after it happened.

New one has inverter technology? Google it. Non inverter one runs at full power and controls temp by switching off and no. Inverter varies speed of motor and works more intelligently controlling the power.

On the bright side, at least it makes a change from the tedious daily forecast of the tourist numbers. Maybe they could combine the two....weather and tourist forecasts, then we could ignore two bits of nonsense in one go.
