Hi - I'm a US citizen arriving in Thailand in April. My ticket has a return date in July. I know US citizens can stay for 30 days without a visa, and since I intend to travel outside the country and back during my three months (and do visa runs if necessary), I didn't get a Tourist visa. However, are they going to look at my return date and say I need one since it's more than 30 days away? Please help - I'm confused! Thanks.

You won't have any problem with Thai immigrations but you'll probably have difficulty with the airline when you check in for your initial outbound flight from the States. Wisest course is to get a tourist visa, perhaps with two entries, from a Thai consulate in the States.

Probably because they are the ones who have to fit the people who are deported for no visas onto their planes.

And cough up $US 3000 fine for carrying an illegal into Thailand.
