Hi,

I currently have a Pajero Sport 2011 and very happy with it, but perhaps I can sell it for like 800-900k and go for a new model Pajero Sport 2015 or for the Ford SUV which is scheduled for 2015. A change sometimes can do good, unless it's just a minor change.

Here a few question I hope someone can answer... ;

1- does anyone when these 2 cars are available in the showrooms in Thailand?

2- does anyone know for around which price(s)?

3- what is my current PJS GT 2.5 110,000km worth?

4- is it possible in Thailand to trade in an old car and pay what's left in order to buy a new car? Or possible but will get a lot less than private sale?

Thanks in advance for answering my questions :)

Hans.

Realistically, you should drop your trade-in value expectations by 100K or more - it's not a sellers market. Yes, you will get more selling private vs. selling to a tent, but you might be waiting longer for a deal.

and just to add, new at motor show in q2 - but delivered when? especially number 2 in that list considering the success they had with the ranger introduction.

Honestly, launching beside the all-new Tuna, I don't think it will be the Ford getting the big queues.

Right, so there's over 200,000 existing Tuna owners that have all been waiting for the new model.

If Ford got repeat buyers, they'd have a couple of thousand by comparison. That doesn't take into account the 3 or 4 farang on this forum that are Ford fans of course :)

Wow, that's about a grisly as it gets.

I don't want to sound unsympathetic, it's a tragedy - but no doubt his surviving heirs will be looking to spend the insurance payout though.

Thanks folks for all the useful answers I was looking for! :)

Perhaps can trade in then my pjs for 650k and add 650k to get the new pjs.

Still wondering what the ford will be priced like. I hope in the range of pjs/mu7/fortuner so about 1.3 or so, just have this feeling it will be more like 1.5 as the ranger pickup is the most expensive pickup as well

You can expect all of these next-gen PPV's to have price bumps over the outgoing models - based on history, I'd anticipate anywhere from +50K to +120K, badge for badge. The new Everest pricing won't have anything to do with the previous gen's pricing though - totally different beast.

Should be able to get the Everest in September.

It is probable you are being very unrealistic about the value of you car. It's a buyer's market, lots of defaults on the new buyer scheme 2 years ago and, I don't intend to insult, but the Pajero is not too desirable. Go for private sale and good luck.

Used prices for the PJS reflect the same overall loss % as Fortuner - so the market disagrees with you.
