Local Drunk
Arresting a Mom and Pop vendor for selling a bit of booze is simply out of line. It's the sort of headline that the TAT doesn't need.
Local Drunk
Strange - it won't let me quote a visible post. Someone asked what Buddhism has to do with drinking. You don't have to dig too deep. Drinking is covered by the 5 precepts I call them the five quarts to enlightenment...
jdinasia
Arresting a Mom and Pop vendor for selling a bit of booze is simply out of line. It's the sort of headline that the TAT doesn't need. restaurant owner who, after being told in person to close up for the day, refused and became abusive. At what point do you suggest that the police do something?Sadly for her, she won't be going to the local court. She'll be going to a military court. No appeal. She could have simply closed. Perhaps she will learn what they teach in Drug Dealer 101 - don't get high on your own supply Edited March 6, 2015 by jdinasia
mick01827
Put her in jail and throw away the key. How dares she selling alcohol to non-Buddhist tourists. Sorry, but if you visit a country, you adhere to the countries laws; it has nothing to do with the visitors religion. Try drinking in some of the Middle East countries; they won't ask you what religion you are. Completely agree, I find it sad how people can't go one night without wanting to drink even just out of respect for thai people and thai culture, if you need to drink everyday its time to have a long hard look at your life. recycled
Could it be that the BIB tried to get a little tea money out of her and because she came vocal they called the military to cover their arse.
jdinasia
Could it be that the BIB tried to get a little tea money out of her and because she came vocal they called the military to cover their arse. Why would they need to call the army? She was violating the law. Whether she was told to pay or close, the police could arrest her for failure to comply with a lawful order
