Extension for visa?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Iv heard different kind of stuff from ppl from who i tried to get correct respond for this (of course i could drive 30km to immigration but rather ask here)

So im from Finland, and i first had 30days normal visa, i wanted to stay longer, and i took one more month from immigration. Now my passport stamp is valid till 17 march.

My question is; is it possible to get 15 or 30 days extension without making a visa run? Because i having a problem, that my passport is only 5months valid from this day, and i cant make visarun, cos i cant get back to Thailand(probably?) if having less than 6months valid passport.

Thanks for helping!

The most you would get from Immigration would be 7 days to leave the country.

You would have no problem entering Thailand with 5 months on your passport.

You would though have a problem entering another country with only 5 months on it.

Thanks,

Got any ideas, which country i should take a visarun, which allows me to get in with 5month on passport? It says in every legal websites and stuff that you must have valid passport for 6months after boarding to Thailand, u sure they wont turn me back if got 5months?

You only need a passport with validity equal to your intended stay for entry to here.

The nearest place you could go to and return to get a new entry is Hong Kong where only 1 month beyond your stay is needed. Check here: http://www.staralliance.com/en/services/visa-and-health/

Why didn't you obtain a 60-day tourist visa from the Royal Thai Embassy in Helsinki before coming over (assuming, of course, that you knew at that stage that 30 days would be insufficient)? You would almost certainly have spared yourself a lot of hassle had you done so!

Yeah i know i should done that. I just booked my trip one day before my flight left from Finland, i was supposed to be here only 2 weeks, but after 2 weeks i wanted to stay longer, and after 1 month i wanted to stay longer cos so cool place and met lot of new friends.

I just wonder now how to get 1 month visa more, before returning back to Finland.

Thanks Ubonjoe, will book back-to-back flights to Hong Kong now.

Sorry for bumping this back up front page, but ill just have tried google and do much research, can anyone say for sure or like 99% sure that it works for me getting visarun to Phuket-Hong Kong-Phuket when my passport is only 5 month valid? IV read lot of different websites tells that Thailand requires that you having valid passport at least 6 months after boarding to Thailand... And just make things clear, IV been here now 52 days and visarun necessary soon.

Thanks in advance!

Thailand requires your passport to be valid for the length of your stay.

Use this. It's what the airlines use.

Use the link provided by Lite Beer to check if the country you will be doing the border run too will allow you entry on a passport with a validity of less than 6 months.
