ED-visa : when I should leave the country to get new ED-visa ?

I got my ED-visa in Vientiane in 10th oct 2014, and I entered in Thailand in 13th oct 2014.

I already got some extensions

My question is : when should I leave the country again to get new ED-visa ? the duration is 6 months or still 1 year for this visa ?

It is still officially 12 months according to the rules for getting extensions of stay.

But some people are being told they have to go out for another one after 6 months because their course of study does not have enough hours to meet the new Ministry of Education requirements.

I already got some extensions

Which implies that like many others, Immigration has denied you the normal duration of 90 days, and is making your stay costly and difficult unless you accept extortion as reported in thread on this same page. Plus the uncertainty about the total duration of stay.

My suggestions is that as soon your pre-paid tuition is finished, you continue to stay with tourist visa. You can legally study at your own pace with that.
