We need more underboob if anything. Good to see the conservative old aged prudes keeping Thailand in the 30's.

Humn .... well except for the modern day/night prostitution which may be everywhere in Thailand. lol Oh how hypocritical of Thai "leaders" (as usual).

Jesus i've been missing out all this time! Thank you for bringing this important news to my attention. wub.png

How true.

I guess the "officials" know if/when Thai females are doing this because of the "petite" size of the photo?

I wish I had invested in padded bras.

A Thai couldn't do this.

Correct, most could barely stretch an A-cup laugh.png

Has the "Culture Ministry" know of the existence of Patpong, Nana, Walking street. etc? Or are these not 'public places'. Absolutely the worst thing in this country is the hypocrisy.

Neither Patpong nor Nana Plaza are public places, they're both privately owned areas. As are all the bars in Walking Street.

As is everybody's facebook -page or eMail account!

its not porn if nipples are covered, so no its not illegal.

mind your own business....

they (who ever "they" are) take this thai culture thing way to seriously

in everyday life I see next to no thai culture that "they" deem so important coffee1.gif

I have seen many experts on here but you appear to be the first porno expert.

This is Thailand, not Farang land, and even if they want to take their culture seriously, then that is their prerogative. So a suggestion, just follow your own advise.

The guy is from the Culture Ministry and made no mention, as far as I can see, of Thai Culture, just indicated that those posting may be in violation of the Computer Crimes Act. He also indicated it would not be accepted in society and this is sustained by a Thai women, who also referred to Thai society, not Thai culture.

The only places you would see next to no Thai culture in everyday life would be the bars all over Thailand. Either this is where you spend most of your time or you walk around with your eyes closed. Which is it?

Just asking, but did you read the same media release that I did on TV because it you did then why have you referred to culture when there was no reference made in that regard?

Of course, there had to be one, to defend this stuff.

...and before you accuse others of not reading thoroughly enough: the "guy" that "is from the Culture Ministry"...is a lady!

Following the same argument and logic from the culture minister of whatever; all pictures/paintings/statues by famed artists depicting slightly naked or fully naked people should be banned and whoever put those pictures on the web should be prosecuted...for example wikipedia.

By the way, there was a czeck photographer recently published is some museum in BKK I think, with pictures of street life in BKK at the end of the 19th century I think. There were pictures of street vendors and other people in the streets, the woman where all naked from the waist up. So that means old Thai culture. Following this logic, all Thai woman today, if they care about the Thai culture, should be naked from the waist up.

Yes, I'm interested in sex and happiness.

Sex is not a sin, it's fun and it is good for your health - no matter what Farang churches preach.

I'm also interested in free communication.

And yes, for me sex is a way of communication.

Music is, too.

What comes next? Make Jazz illegal?

Unfortunately after Reuters picked up the story and linked the silly announcement from the culture Ministry to the Military Government - the World's press have used the report to make fun of Thailand and it's current politics. Not a big help for a struggling economy. I guess we'll soon hear about a certain lady being transferred to an inactive post.

Will crack open a bottle of Champagne when that happens. It is rather affordable outside of Thailand.

It is not unfortunate when deluded autocrats are exposed to world opinion and world ridicule. It is a good thing. The culture ministry is frequently wrong and seems to know nothing about culture except some neo con interpretation of the idea. This crass announcement deserves ridicule. What is also of importance is the prison sentence of five years used as a threat.

Interesting the short attention span of newspapers and lots of people.

Now it's Culture Ministry and Military government.

Hardly more than two years ago under a female Prime Minister the same Ministry of Culture complained about the Nok Air calendar

And don't forget, there was the infamous topless teens dancing during Songkran episode that involved the police and Culture Ministry back in 2011.

To all intents and purposes, she is already in one.

If applies only to women it just another example of how hopelessly sexist the current regime is

Absolutely. If there's anything I don't want to see it's male underboob selfies. That's really disgusting.

Let the ladies judge.

Guess there's a difference between male tits and male nipples.

This dangerous and immoral trend could possibly undermine the purity of Thai culture and pervert the local minds. This is a very clean place, both physically, emotionally, spiritually, and morally. These kinds of foreign trends should be stopped in their tracks! Immediately. Imagine the damage that could be done to the innocent Thai women, if they began such a trend? Imagine if they participated in this kind of perversion? Underboob photos are an entry form of porn. They could lead to the local women actually engaging in the sexual act.

The ministry is correct in becoming the moral police and attempting to keep this place clean and pure.

LOL.
