Underboob selfies illegal here: Culture Ministry

Perfectly right. Do a google/images search for underboob and you'll see what I mean. There are several million images, although only a couple of hundred are seen on an iPad (a limit, for some reason). They're all disgusting. Every single one of them. You shouldn't look.

What is wrong with it, they do not show the nipple, Thai are getting a bit like the Muslims

Well, I just had to check out the Google Images and I confess, I was Gob-smacked, appalled, sickened, revolted to such a degree, that I felt compelled to view as many as I could, in order to understand the depravity that some folks will sink to.

Now before I lodge a very Stiffly worded complaint to TV, for even running the above article, I'm just going to go back to that Google (Ogle) site to confirm just how disgusting it is.

We need more underboob if anything. Good to see the conservative old aged prudes keeping Thailand in the 30's.

There is a new leader in town and he has established his new dept of morality to clean up Thailand's image. Private happy endings have gone and this is just another step. If Thais want to look at boobs then there are plenty of foreign ones allowed. Only fat ugly chicks should wear bikinis in Thailand also.

An 'underboob selfies' ban is the latest move in the Thai military's war on free expression

Thailand’s military government warned women on Monday against posting ‘selfie’ photos of the lower half of their breasts – a social media trend that has gone viral – saying their actions could violate the country’s computer crime laws.
Similar to the popular “sideboob” shot, which arguably hit its peak in 2012 and was subsequently banned from the photo-sharing site Instagram, the #underboob photo and hashtag is nothing new. A quick internet search shows most of the #underboob discussion on the web happened back in 2013.
Until today, of course.

I only draw the line at hairy under the armpits, but i rooly like the looking down over the bumm cleavage tho', but sometimes they can become rather abstract and confusing:

You heathens!!! This is not what Buddha intended!!! I think it is OK to look and understand what the Devil has in store for our children, but I am not sure that is wise!!! I have told my wife that I looked once, OK twice, and now we are in counseling. Nothing good will come of this!!!

So hard to live a pure life. I must try to change the deinition of pure!!! Techinically, these pics are of a natural human being.....maybe clothes are the work of the Devil!!! I must study more...

Wow!

All Ii can say is that I think Yupha Thaweewattanakijborworn, director of the Culture Watch Office of the Culture Ministry needs to get out more, and she and the Culture Ministry needs to join the rest of us in the 21st century.

Anyway, let's be happy they focus on really important things like underboobs and don't waste their time on nonsense issues like the smog in ChiangMai. At least Thai lawmakers still know very well how to set priorities. coffee1.gif

Quote:

She added that the Culture Ministry does not support Thai women to be scantily clad in public places, and it would become a serious problem for the society if many Thai girls follow the example.

When did the "Culture ministry" last take a stroll down "walking street" ??

its not porn if nipples are covered, so no its not illegal.

mind your own business....

they (who ever "they" are) take this thai culture thing way to seriously

in everyday life I see next to no thai culture that "they" deem so important coffee1.gif

I have seen many experts on here but you appear to be the first porno expert.

This is Thailand, not Farang land, and even if they want to take their culture seriously, then that is their prerogative. So a suggestion, just follow your own advise.

The guy is from the Culture Ministry and made no mention, as far as I can see, of Thai Culture, just indicated that those posting may be in violation of the Computer Crimes Act. He also indicated it would not be accepted in society and this is sustained by a Thai women, who also referred to Thai society, not Thai culture.

The only places you would see next to no Thai culture in everyday life would be the bars all over Thailand. Either this is where you spend most of your time or you walk around with your eyes closed. Which is it?

Just asking, but did you read the same media release that I did on TV because it you did then why have you referred to culture when there was no reference made in that regard?

The Culture Ministry now decides what is legal and what is not?

Did I miss something?

She's using the Computer Crimes Act to threaten and warn, then backs off with "suggest" later in the article.

The junta is not yet emboldened enough but is progressing in increments, which is how these things go before reaching critical meltdown. I hope it never gets to culture/morality enforcers roaming malls to ensure "suggested behaviour" is maintained.
