March 17, 201511 yr Hope i have the correct forum, please move if not, and my apologises, i am a UK expat here in LOS. tentatively planning a trip to USA (Phoenix) with my thai wife, around the beginning Oct. when it is cooler for 30 days, my problem is at my age 76 i would not venture there without medical insurance, as if the worst happened and i was hospitalised it would throw an unfair burden on my daughter and her partner,(who i hope to visit) who i presume would be treated as our sponsers therefore liable. The few companies i have approached for quotes have either not replied, or have a cut of age at 55 year old or thereabouts,so i am throwing my problem at TV users who might have experience of this age problem, any suggestions leads etc. will be gratefully received, would be great if i could couple this up with expat medical cover here in Thailand, but maybe that's expecting too much, or maybe my getting insurance at all is asking to much, i sincerely hope not! regards maxcorrigan
March 17, 201511 yr Max Did you try World Nomad? Give them a shout, I've had friends over 60 use them in the past. FYI, don't think your daughter would be liable for your bills in the U.S., she'll not be signing any paperwork accepting such a responsibility. It's not required for her to be a sponsor for you or your wife for your tourist visas. Mac

Mac Thanks for the tip i will give "world nomad" a go, as for daughter not being a sponsor you are probably correct, but it would still put her a position of feeling she has to do something ie. cough up money, in the event of something happening to her dad in hospital. Thanks for input, much appreciated Max
