I enjoy long trips on my PCX and have done BKK-Pattaya before. BUT...I hate doing the Bang na Trat part of the drive. So rather than Sukhumvit-Bang na Trat-Sukhumvit route to Pattaya, is it possible to just stay on Sukhumvit for the entire way?

Yes.

But it is further and at Bang Pakong you will be getting back on BangNa-Trat.

Yep, two only two bridges to the south-east.

One for the motorway and one for Bangna Trat.

The next bridge is for #304, quite a detour over small roads?

When you are on the Tanon Sukhumvit road, make sure you follow the sign for Chonburi, and ride straight through all the way to Pattaya. I have ridden on both directions on my PCX.

I was told that staying on the Sukhumvit road from Bang Na, is a lot of hassle because of the extension of the Skytrain line.
