Alternative routes for the night of March 27.

PHUKET: The closure of part of Chao Fa West Rd near Central Festival, scheduled to take place on Wednesday night (March 18) to allow the span of a footbridge to be put in place, was postponed after it was found that high-voltage cables were dangerously close.

Wichit Police had already posted signs and alerted local press to let motorists know alternative routes.

Somkiet Yimpong, Project Engineer for the Central underpass, today (March 19) admitted that the placing of the bridge span will now take place on the night of March 27, starting at 11pm and lasting until 5am the following day. He apologised for any confusion.

The alternative routes remain the same. See map above.
