Suspected Drunk Driver killed in South Pattaya Road Crash

PATTAYA: -- In the early morning hours of Saturday a 26 year old Engineer died in a suspected drink-related road crash on the Sukhumvit Road in South Pattaya.

Police and medics were called to the scene of the crash in front of the Highway Police Station just before 6.20am. Lying on the pavement was the body of Khun Pongpan. The passenger on the bike was Khun Yutagorn aged 25, who sustained only minor injuries.

He told Police that the pair work for an Engineering company based in Laem Chabang and are currently overseeing the construction of a condominium on Jomtien Beach.

On Friday Night the pair went to the opening night of the Pattaya Music Festival and after many hours of heavy drinking the pair left for a Temple where they presented alms to Monks, just before daybreak on Saturday.

When will people learn about the perils of drinking and driving

IMO never

They always think it will not happen to them

RIP

The temple visit/alms didn't help much.

The temple visit/alms didn't help much.

Sounds like it worked for the passenger...

Another one bites the dust.

"Police... were called to the scene of the crash in front of the Highway Police Station"....

Only in Thailand.

Ban alcohol, and make waky baky legal ??????

We all have too many drinks at time, but anybody who gets on a motorbike, after, is seriously deranged

OHHHHHHHHHHHHH BUT I DRIVE BETTER, WHEN PISSED

On the up side , no innocent people were injured or killed.

The temple visit/alms didn't help much.

Doesn't that depend on how the reincarnation works out ?

Suspected drunk ? After many hours of heavy drinking, would think they could have left out the suspected..

He would have been better spending the money on a helmet rather than giving it to the temple, head first into pavement no helmet no chance.I saw a clip of a traffic jam in Vietnam and every bike rider had a helmet, why is it so hard to police here, raise the fines and confiscate the bike for a week for the first offence and increase fines and confiscation time for evey offence after that. So easy to do
