Hangover: The lads lived out their version of 'The Hangover' film in Thailand

Phillip Boyle took only a carrier bag of clothes with him

MANCHESTER: -- Two lads pulled an all-nighter and in their drunken stupor ended up in Thailand.

Phillip Boyle had been to the pub then headed home for a few 'quiet' bevvies with his mates on Friday night, Gazette Live reports.

But after a night of drinking, the 33-year-old had been persuaded by his pal to jet to the popular beach resort of Pattaya in Thailand for an impromptu lads' holiday.

He took with him just a Tesco carrier bag stuffed with T-Shirts and boxer shorts.

"We decided on not going out for a crazy night but to buy a few drinks from the petrol station and go to my house for a quiet night," said the company director, from Nunthorpe, Middlesborough.

"We then went back to my house by about 1am and just sort of sat there."

It was then when friend Jamie Blyth, 33, a rigger from Marton, booked a taxi to Manchester Airport.

Yeah, sure.

What happens on tour, stays on tour.

Except for the one who's done it four times before.

"Spontaneity" the guy had better look it up. I think the word he wanted was 'repetative'.

Why Thailand? A choice was consciously made.

Why not Syria?

The pair got flights from Manchester Airport to Pattaya

A little known routing.

Well, you have to take into consideration the target audience.

Good on yer ladz!

Some testosterone left in the UK perhaps! :D

Drunk in charge of an Amex Card I call it..... did it once in HongKong, ouch!

Not quite the way the headline suggests.

When I used to drink similar things would happen and we would literally wake up in a different country. It usually happened when a few of us went on an all day bender. At some stage one of us would get a mad idea of heading off to Spain,Portugal or Turkey, just about anywhere we could that was far from where we were. Most of the time we didn't even remember getting there (what I now know is called a blackout). These lads didn't decide to go till the day after the drinking when they said they should head over to Thailand and join friends already there.

This is news because.....?

The word "Lads" says it all.

! agree they were pretty stupid

I did the same thing once and it lasted for four years.

Two friends go to Thailand.

Must be frontpage and prime time news in the UK

maybe the girls in Grenada are not so friendly

I often have traveled on 1/2 day notice. Several of my work contracts have ended quite suddenly. Once I got a phone call Friday night at the mall telling me no need to report Monday. Once on a Thursday I turned around to go back into the lab and my badge no longer worked! Once a dumb looking company security guy came to my desk and said go. OK. I travel light as I work away from home. I give the landlord any remaining notice or rent, or check out of the hotel, put the stuff in the car, and off to the airport. Sometimes I am lucky enough to be near some people I know that let me park my car with them. Other times I just have to go for the long term parking at the airport, or in Seattle found a great deal with the Self Storage place. First month $ 39, second month $1.

I imagine insurance wasn't a priority.

Idiots!

It reminds me of a bar in Hong Kong called Amnesia "where you forget you have a job, a wife and two kids ..."

You sound like a much sought after employee. biggrin.png

Strange that the guy on our left is sucking his stomach in.
