china-12.jpg

PATTAYA: -- A 25 year old Chinese Tourist is currently in a coma after he inexplicably jumped off the back of a travelling Baht Bus in Central Pattaya in the early hours of Monday.

Police and medics rushed to the scene and attended to Mr. We Illei, who was unconscious and appeared to have a serious head injury.

A friend of the victim told Police that they had been out together and both were intoxicated. They had earlier been involved in a fight with a woman inside a Bar in North Pattaya and it was decided that they should retreat to their Hotel in South Pattaya and hailed a Baht Bus to take them back to their place of residence.

The victim’s friend stopped Mr. Illei from jumping off the travelling Baht Bus a number of times until he actually fell off head-first onto the street on Pattaya 3rd Road in Central Pattaya.

Baht bus diving. I hope this doesnt catch on. Sad really as there are a pretty large number of Chinese, baht buses and bars in Pattaya. All the makings of the perfect storm. Hope he pulls through.

Quality Tourism on the rise !! Why do people travel so far to get drunk ??

Because their alcoholics . I don't drink never have but have been here with friends that have to ask me the next morning "is that the same girl I picked up yesterday morning" or have awoken with bar girls waiting to be paid but they have no memory of what happened. I have said you come all this way and spend all this money to come over , get drunk don't remember what they have done but say "I must have had a great time " Really stupid, could save most the cash and just get drunk at home.

from what i´ve seen, the chinese coming to thailand dont seem too bright, wandering about the middle of busy roads looking up at the sky, on planes they get up and start walking down the aisle just as the plane has touched the run way, walk to the front of a que when there´s around 50-100 people standing in line... now diving out the back of baht buses... real quality tourists

It helps them to release their inner Superman and makes them more attractive to women ... as he so ably demonstrated.

He was surrounded by cute nurses in sexy uniforms when he woke up?

You are confusing lack of intelligence with lack of common good manners. Oh, yeah! Sorry. Same thing!

After all, this Chinese tourist is injured in Bar or in the bus ? Truth will never come out.....

Thailand will be in trouble, if Chinese tourists stopped coming to spend their money here.

Didn`t take long before the first idiot appear to bash Thailand..

I would think it was perhaps a sarcastic comment about the Chinese?

English is not your first language? Or lacking in lateral thinking? whistling.gif

No. Wrong.

This is not sarcasm, and it seem it is you who lacks the ability to read and comprehend English.

Here it is:

After all, this Chinese tourist is injured in Bar or in the bus ? Truth will never come out.....

Thailand will be in trouble, if Chinese tourists stopped coming to spend their money here.

(1) "After all, this Chinese tourist is injured in Bar or in the bus ?" This questions whether this person was hurt in a bar or on the bus. Now, we have his friend corroborating the bus story, but let's not let the facts get in the way of a dig at Thailand, shall we?

(2) "Truth will never come out....." What a sweet Thai Visa moment. First put forward the proposition of a "secret' and "hidden" event ... a bar fight where the "victim" was abused by ... you guessed it Thai People .. then the pure evil of the Thai conspiracy / cover up. Ummm ... where is the making fun of the Chinese drunk fool in this? This is Thai Visa Thai Bashing at its core, and it is getting old and boring for many of us.

(3) English is not your first language? Ditto sir ... ditto.

Only on Thai Visa can we get in a pi$$ing contest over a drunk tourist falling off a bus.

Is this really so hard to believe?

REALLY?

bangkokequity has nailed it - we've all seen people hanging precariously off the back of baht buses late at night. I vividly recall two Farang morons having some kind of pushing match to the loud accompaniment of the other idiots in the bus while it sped down Second Road at ~3am a few weeks back. Farang have treated Pattaya as an 'anything goes' town for decades, often with disastrous results, yet here we are casting aspersions on the Chinese for picking up on that vibe and getting hammered ?

As for the wowsers who cant comprehend why anyone would go out and get drunk when they could be safe back in their hotel rooms. at least this lot were prepared to spend a few baht. As it stands, the only people who appear to be making any money from the Chinese are the airlines, tour operators. hotels (at what must be razor-thin margins) and the odd restaurant. They wander up and down the bar sois peering in to see what all the fuss is about - clearly someone in this group had the temerity to actually set foot in a bar. Getting so drunk you fall from a moving vehicle isnt a practice I would recommend, but I've seen a few Farang get on a motorbike at 2am when they clearly shouldnt have, and the antics of drunk Russians in Pattaya are well documented : suddenly its the Chinese and we want to demonise them ?

China, like several of its neighbours, has a hard-working / hard-drinking culture that is completely at odds with the 'family is everything' image that many Asian countries try to project to the rest of the world:

http://www.theawl.com/2012/06/china-baijiu-culture

They also appear to have the 'quality expat' TVers know and love:

https://www.lostlaowai.com/blog/expat-stuff/china-expat-advice/why-do-foreigners-in-china-drink-so-much/

Whether they drink heavily at home or not, Pattaya is a town with bars everywhere, often open from 10am till well into the following morning, with perfect weather for late-night socialising over a drink or fifteen. I'm not going to get bent out of shape if the Chinese join the rest of the tourists - and many of the locals - in embracing that culture.

When will somebody look upon the safety of the Baht Buses in Pattaya? It is really frightening to see the buses load up 15 people on a pick up truck. Nearly no steering, but still run 80 km/h or more on the road between Jomtien and Pattaya.

In this case I understand the passenger jumped, but several times we have witnessed passengers fall out from the back where they are standing! Well, T.I.T., accept or leave!

What money? most are on all inclusive tours and spend almost nothing ,

Spot on !! They come here in huge groups and don't reall spend anything except for the odd few who went out drinking like these two which ended up most probably not wanting to pay the 10 baht fare and tried to make a jump for it while the baht bus was still moving.

Idiot, he got what he deserves but doing something stupid like this.
