Im flying to Udon Thani tomorrow and going to the Laos border for a quick turn around as I already have a multiple entry visa.

What is the current fee? I think it used to be $30 USA but I think that changed? not sure

For the USA it is $35 or you can pay 1500 baht. It has not changed for many years.

Thanks the reason I asked is because it should be $30 as Im OZ but the last time I was there the guy asked for an extra $2 and that caused me some drama as I only had $30 USA exactly. I dont know how he got to that price and I had all my stuff in order including pics. hmmm I guess I will grab a few extra $$ just in case

They charge an overtime fee for weekends or if it is after 6 pm that costs a dollar or two. Perhaps that is what happened to you. They will also accept 40 baht for the overtime fee according to some reports.
