William Osborne
I came in New Year and with 30 day tourist visa and got a 60 day extension based on marriage....I just did a border run and got another 15 days but looks like I will need to extend again (normally i never stay more than 4 weeks but my offshore job has fallen through) Does anyone know is 60 days the maximum i can apply for based on marriage ?..... the last time I was down at immigration the second officer asked me why i didn't apply for 1 year ? ... my passport had been stamped at that stage and i thought i would be back at work so didn't think much of it at the time .. cheers
ubonjoe
You can apply for a one a one year extension of stay based upon marriage. You will need 400k baht in a Thai bank in your name only for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income. You would need to get a single entry non-o visa in order to apply for it. You can also get a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage in Savannakhet Laos with no financial proof. It would give unlimited 90 day entries for a year.
