I had that problem in a place I used to go to, too. Kept serving me underboiled eggs with runny whites. Hur~

Unusual really, given that they normally cook the ar5e off a kai dow!

Get an egg boiler like in robbloks picture (btw. rob, this model makes a noise, as loud as a fire-alarm system, when it's done)

Once in a while, a not so healthy breakfast:

Oh, life is so damn hard when you cannot even boil an egg yourself.

All you need is an egg, a pan, some water and some form of heat to boil the water.

Rocket science it isn't.

My problem isn't boiling eggs, it is peeling them. When I try to peel eggs here in Thailand, they look like the moon, with more egg attached to the shell than on the peeled egg. Peeling them immediately after boiling while the eggs are still hot helps, but I still end up with 25% of the egg in the trash along with the shell. I read that this is a problem with fresh eggs, but it seems to be a problem (for me) even if the eggs have been in the fridge for several days.

The problem with the 'egg white sticking to the shell when peeling problem' is usually solved by plunging the egg into cold water before peeling so it's cooled down first.

You seriously can't fix a few boiled eggs for yourself.. geez some men are really helpless.

Buy an egg boiler.. I got a nice one can't go wrong.

What's an egg boiler Robbo? Do you mean a small pan and water?

As a guide:

• For runny soft-boiled eggs (barely set whites): 3 minutes

• For slightly runny soft-boiled eggs: 4 minutes

• For custardy yet firm soft-boiled eggs: 6 minutes

• For firm yet still creamy hard-boiled eggs: 10 minutes

For very firm hard-boiled eggs: 15 minutes

A lot depend upon many factors, temperature of the egg when placed in the pan, if brought to the boil or placed in boiling water, even altitude as water boils at a different temperature dependent upon altitude.

You forgot about the size of the egg.

Egg cooker however you call it..I posted a pic.. its an electrical device you just ad a measured amount of water (depending on the amount of eggs you get a measure cup with it) and let it go.. it makes a loud noise when done.. so no boiling water.

I know it makes a real loud noise.. that is why i like it. I got the same one was just too lazy to make a picture of it. It works like a charm.

Before the egg boiler i occasionally destroyed a pan (forgetting I had eggs boiling) and cooking till all water was gone. This is a good safe solution. I don't know if it switches itself off when done though. (never had to try as you said the sound is quite loud)

After many attempts my missus now cooks perfect eggs with sliced toast, for 'soldiers'.

I assume you are trying to divert attention from this life threatining issue of boiled eggs? You have introduced the subject of "toast soldiers", my God that is a subject that deserves a post of it's own.

White bread, brown bread, wholemeal, rye, cut thick, cut thin, butter, salted , unsalted.

You have opened the gates of Hell here, I think this post could run and run

;-)

You do punch a hole in them before boiling and after boiling you dip them in cool water ?

But if egs are too fresh you could have the problem you describe.. I buy them at the market and still dont have problems.

My only problem was leaving the water on with eggs and destroying a pan.. as I often forget it during work My solution.

I've bought this model about 10 times in the last years, they make a nice present and are still quite unknown in Thailand. It's always an astonishment how little water you need to prepare a boiled egg.

Yea I know most older guys are helpless to do anything themselves stuck in the old role patterns. They would die without a female in a few days. Be proud about it mate your a dying breed.

Of course for the other job with eggs.. sure i prefer a female for that too.
