Article 44 to fix aviation woes: Prayut

Featured Replies

All Thai men are legends in their own minds and love listening to themselves, so stand by for as much bullshit as you can take in one lifetime.

Yes.

Reminds me of the English movies w/ Thai voice overs, where it's stupidly obvious they are reaching waaaaaaaay down into their nad-sacks to come up with such a fake, deep voice.

They wind up sounding more like fake men, than a Nana Plaza Katoey sounds like a fake woman... Hope that makes sense biggrin.png .

It really does... only in Thailand.

Next thing you know, he'll be making the trains run on time. Sounds familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.

  • Thailand had the lowest ICAO score of any ASEAN country with only 21 out of 100 areas reviewed by auditors getting a passing grade. This not something that will be fixed in 30 days.

I somehow almost got involved with scrapping those aircraft sitting off the Viphavadee expressway at Don Muang. The guy wanted "Farang Marketing Power" as he put it. I told him it should be no big de

This issue is spreading. I heard on the radio this morning that the Australian civil aviation authority is starting to implement further checks on Thai Airways planes due to the concerns raised. It is also liaising with the relevant Thai authorities. Cat is well and truely out of the bag and urgent action is obviously needed as the issue is now spreading to the wider area of the travelling public. Mentions of safety issues and inspections by your country's authorities on an airline is going to have potentially disastorous impacts on ticket sales.

wow.. I'm going to ask him to lend me article 44 to fix my toothache

Shirley you can't be serious!

I wonder why specifically 44 is needed to clean up this mass.

Because he now has the power to stop the reporting of his failure to fix it. Problem solved!

>>During his weekly speech, he said that the Civil Aviation Department would need to have more staff, including foreigners to restore public confidence.<< Quote

Wrong!! To restore public confidence Thailand needs another leader!!

finding an honest person to run for office is difficult.

Well, perhaps you should run for office in that case.

Quite honestly, this guy is the best Leader Thailand has had in recent memory.

Just showing that article 44 is a good thing.

With those in office in recent memory that's no accolade and he's doing his very best to prove he's as bad as anyone.

article 44 to pick up the trash... that could be done in 90 days...

Some Thais in important positions make their living by blocking anything that's needed until they are paid off so, just getting the deadwood and the political fixers out of the national carrier would go a long way towards fixing the problem. The whole system is not bad or it would have been banned long ago. Some specific work around the edges and it will at least pass the minimum criterion. It will take longer to bring to whole organization up to full potential but getting rid of the personnel who are gumming up the works will make even that big job quicker and more thorough. The PM can cut through the political BS with Article 44. None of you know the specifics of why the limitations were put on the national carrier in the first place but your first reaction is to attack the one person who has the power to straighten it out; even if it does take longer than he thinks. The 60 days is not a deadline to fix the situation, as many are saying, but the time it will take to set up a department to oversee the part of the aviation industry that will be established for licensing within the aviation industry. The Civil Aviation Department staffing is still the same size as it was when it oversaw hundreds of flights and now it is trying to oversee thousands of flights. Staff needs to be added but a department to oversee the aviation industry will need to be established for proper licensing must be set up first. The PM is saying that with politicians doing it (with all their self-interest and nepotist hiring) this would take a year or a year and a half. With Article 44, he can do this in 90 days.

Also, there seems to be a lot of posters who wish Thaksin was back in charge. Thaksin is never coming back to Thailand so get over it and start pulling for Thailand and stop rooting for a has-been fugitive felon ex-PM.
