BANGKOK: -- The majority of the respondents of Nida Poll want the weekly “Returning Happiness to the People” TV programme to be adjusted with other ministers joining the talk show instead of just Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha.

63.92 percent of 1,250 respondents said they want to hear from the other ministers about their performance and achievements rather than just from the mouth of the prime minister alone.

However, 22.56 percent of the respondents want to format to maintain saying they love to hear the prime minister talks.

The National Institute of Development Administration or Nida conducted the opinion polls from 1,250 respondents on the subjects of PM and the Media and on the weekly TV programme on April 2-3.

Regarding the issue between the PM and the media, 39.67 percent said they felt Prime Minister Prayut is too straightforward that he may sound to be rude with the media; 29.28 percent felt the media’s questions were provocative; 26.08 percent felt the prime minister spoke too loud giving a wrong impression that he wanted to pick a fight with the media and 17.84 percent said the PM was short-tempered.

Another BS from the so called NIDA Poll.

The PM said last week that he will avoid being the only speaker on this show and share his time with his ministers.

Why do they pretend that the people is asking for that?

One of these days.......I will adjust to Thai logic.

I would suggest that the show contains some of the people opposed to the government, in this way the real debate for Thailand’s future can start.

To quote Churchill “jaw, jaw is better than war, war”

This is a chance for Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha to show he is a real statesman?

How dare you?? Opposition??

With 132 % behind Mr P, opposition doesn't exist!!

Silly me, after Art 44, the correct number is 138% !!

" 26.08 percent felt the prime minister spoke too loud"

Does this mean 26.08% of Thais don't know how to use the volume control on their TVs ??

I asked my Thai wife what she thinks of the Prime Minister.

She said, at first she thought he was OK, because he spoke directly about problems. Later, her impression changed, and she now thinks he is rude and disrespectful.

I guess she fits in with the poll results.

"63.92 percent of 1,250 respondents" oh oh he is below the 99% he likes to be at.... watch out for martial law or 44.. time for the country to be reeducated (i.e. brainwashed) on the good PM

I agree with one thing in this article.

"Prayut is too straightforward that he may sound to be rude"

He really needs to employ the services of Robert Amsterdam. If Amsterdam can make apparent educated westerners sympathetic to the plight of an accused mass murderer, accused terrorist and convicted criminal fugitive then he can make Paryut look like mother Teresa.

As for the poll. The reaction is a litmus test of the disrespect the 7%'ers will have for the majority when they vote against any affiliates of the PTP in the future.

Trouble is 99.999% of the population don't watch the program at all..the remaining 0.0001% have the volume turned down.

Sooo. have as many people on as you want, won't make much difference, although I hear on the grapevine Costas is chomping at the bit for a walk on part LOL

I am sure Mr Amsterdam would happily go to work for pretty much anyone if the price was right. He is a gun for hire, not Thaksin's right hand man as a few Thaivisa members seem to think.

Amsterdam is a lawyer, he'll work for whoever pays him: Yukos, Thaksin, Kim Dotcom...hardly a political statement there, more a statement of 'money talks'

The propaganda department will need to be a little more convincing than this.......Thais are not that stupid IMO...............but...maybe I'm wrong..again!!

Deepak Chopra or Dr Phill or Jerry Springer types to share the stage?

Didn't they have a chef that had a TV show impersonating a Prime Minister? Cooking shows are always good?

Who wants to watch a rude General?

Great idea, how about guests as well? Maybe Grace Jones or Elton John?

Even better - djjamie!

Thank you.

I would love to take you up on the offer, but unfortunately my time is limited as I am busy earning a living to support my family with the intention of getting them to Australia ASAP.

In Australia ministers that lie are not defended by the PM and I want my kids to grow up in a country knowing that lying is not acceptable or defended by uneducated westerners that think it is.

Have a lovely Easter Monday my friend and take care.

djjamie, I'ill make a prediction, and it's this. Thaksin is not going to be in charge of Thailand again. I predict the junta will stay in power for another ten years, actually, call it twenty.

Thaksin, love him or hate him, he's not going to be in charge of Thailand again. Do you want to stay in Thailand for the long-term ??

Nup.

Politics aside, if you had a choice to bring your kids up in Australia (or your home country) or Thailand even though you may get 4 times the money in Thailand (as I do) compared to Australia it is a complete no brainier desicion.

Unlike the majority on this site I live in Thailand out of necessity due to work and financial commitments. I am not here because I love the country.

Those commitments over time have enabled me to be in a position to leave Thailand and as much have I have enjoyed the memories I will leave it ASAP and happily pay tax knowing the tax money will not support people like Chalerm, yingluck and others that allow terrorism to flourish with impunity.

Obviously leaving it knowing that democracy may finally return after the dark days of the Shins is saddening, but it is a required move none the less. (yes yes, one principle stands…yingluck was elected..I was talking about the 14 other principles which even people with Alzheimer's can remember)

Thanks for the reply my friend.
