I stayed in kumphawapi for 90 day's commencing Jan 1st 2015. After three days I started to itch all over. All the family were itching. Then I noticed everyone in kumphawapi was itching.

The pharmacy in kumphawapi told me it was the changes in the weather (hot & cold) and that it is only affecting people in the kumphawapi area.

I've been back in England for 10 days now and still itching all over.

Any sensible theories will be welcome.

I had a lot changes in weather.....but never got any itching.....from a lot sweating you can get some skin problems but not everyone....Or a fungus, but that is just on some specific areas.

how do the itching areas look like? bubbles, bites?

If the problem was localized itching, with no other obvious symptoms, I would suspect a fungal infection or bed bugs. Something like prickly heat could cause more widespread itching, but I would expect there would be other symptoms. An allergic reaction would usually only affect certain people. If there are spots or rashes that might provide a clue, you might try posting a photo. What did the pharmacy prescribe for treatment? Are others in the family still experiencing itching?

The itching is all over the body. Mainly arms, elbows, legs and back. The only visible signs are what appear to be mosquito bites and they are big itchy spots tightly grouped around the anus and scrotum areas. On the rest of my body the lumps are under the skin.

Most likely this is prickly heat (miliaria) possibly augmented by a fungal infection. I would expect that the itching would have greatly improved in most areas by now, but might persist where the pores were badly blocked and possibly infected. The appearance of the spots can vary a lot from individual to individual and depending on the part of the body. Miliaria is classified differently depending on how deep the blockage is. Any good dermatologist should be able to confirm my guess.

Prickly heat and/or problem with the water. In some locations (where water is from wells, especially) the water becomes harder in the dry season.

Keep skin clean, dry and aired out (sleep naked and use a fan to circulate air). Moist, clammy skin and sweat soaked clothing will prolong the malady, for sure.

Make sure you use a bum gun, if you got problems in that area, don't be wiping that mess around into the irritation. Pat dry.

Our water comes from a borehole. But drinking water is filtered and they are new filters.

But it's strange that this itching problem is only in the kumphawapi area. Even the pharmacist has it. Very weird.

Hi Ying,

I had recently a similar skin irritation on my legs with itching. I used many different creams, which all where useless.

A German doctor treated me for scabies. I had to apply a special cream only one time. And now - after one week it is gone and healing. The name of the creme is: Permethrin-biomo 5%.

Maybe your problem is different.

Can you update us about your progress?

Hi Prepress

I too have now been to my doctor in England and I also have been prescribed for Scabies But I've just noticed that I've been given Permethrin 1% and all my research plus our NHS website advises Permethrin 5%. So it looks like I need to go back to my doctors, as after 7 days I'm still scratching. Bad. Especially at night.

If you have scabies it may take many months for the rash and itching to die away. Even though you kill off the scabies bug, the eggs and scabies faeces are under your skin and this can cause a reaction all over your body. The big danger is from over treatment. If you keep applying the poisons you may develop a skin reaction to the toxins even though the scabies bugs have long gone. If you research the net you will find people that have problems for years due to over treatment.

Be patient, the itching will gradually subside but it may take months for the skin to fully recover.

All my comments are based on personal experience.

Colloidal Silver spray or cream may (should) help the itching.

I had scabies about 30 years ago. It was several months and 3-4 different doctor visits before I was properly diagnosed. I kept going back to the doctor who correctly diagnosed & treated me complaining that I still had the scabies. He finally almost yelled at me that I was cured, it was all in my head and to get over it.

He was correct.

This is notscabies.

It does not look like scabies, does not itch like scabies, and it is on his face, specifically his cheek.

he said 'The itching is all over the body. Mainly arms, elbows, legs and back.' He did not mention his face.

Think that was another thread ;-)

The itching is all over my body. The lumps similar to mosquito bites, are around my anus and lumps on my scrotum. All very itchy. But nothing on my face.

Are you frequently swimming. Sometimes the poolwater is not good.

Or you are allergic to some food. Try to change your food source.
