mawooshen
Hey people, I hope I'm posting in the right area. I'm thinking of renting an apartment/house somewhere in Thailand for a couple of months or so and use it as a base while I travel around. For money I hope to do some freelance translation over the internet. I'd rather not stay in Bangkok (too big) and would prefer a smaller city but for my plan to work the internet connection is absolutely vital. Can anyone tell me what cities/towns in Thailand now have affordable/reliable/easy to set up broadband services? Any other related tips gratefully received! Cheers
johng
I would venture to say that almost all Thai cities of any reasonable size now have affordable Internet service you would only really have trouble " out in the sticks " However you should be aware that the reliability and international speed can be quite bad. Easy setup ? well not so easy but not impossible..might take 2-3 weeks. If you must have internet at all times then have a backup connection ( maybe a dial up ) or CDMA or EDGE ( wireless ) but coverage on those are quite limited. jdinasia
for "a couple of months" you would likely just find a place that already had ADSL. it took me a month to get ADSL in Kmala ... they were out of routers.
