motorbike to be duties dropped 2018

Featured Replies

I was in Kawasaki Ubon yesterday having a service down a drueling over the new H2 that had just been positioned on their showroom floor. While talking to the English speaking salesman about the high price of the new bike he informed me that import duties on motorbikes imported from Japan were to be lifted in 2018 bringing the prices of these bikes down to affordable levels.

Now before I'm shot down in flames I am just the messenger. Has anyone else heard this as a rumor or even better is it official?

It's true ( I was drooling over the H2 there, on Monday too)

so is that an official statement or did the guy say the same to you?

If you search here there are threads about it over the last few years. No, didn't talk to him about it.

Its to do with the free trade agreement

Hell yeah the new R1 looks like a beast.

Seems to be beating everything in the reviews.

Yeah, the new R1 has technology I didn't even know existed. See this:

But sadly, I think the older design was much prettier.
