UDD's request to commemorate 2010 bloodshed rejected

the UDD and Taksin used these paid protesters as human pawns. They fired them up (no pun intended) and sent in their own armed thugs to escalate the violence to further Taksin's personal thirst for power and greed. The first people killed from this UDD protest were innocent protesters on the opposing side that were blown up with RPG's (by the UDD thugs), the next was the military personnel including a high ranking member.

They started it, they got what they asked for. They wanted martyrs for Taksin's cause. This needs to be shown for what it is and not glorified. Taksin needs to be held responsible for this along with those guilty of terrorism.

If there is karma, I can't wait for it to happen.

Seems like a lot of similarities to events in 2014. Violence used to block an election, these acts were provocation that escalated to further violence, and the resulting dead were used as a reason to overthrow the government.

No side is innocent in these ongoing conflicts, except one side used pawns to get an election, while the other side used pawns to take a government down.

if you are blind or a bit retarded there may look to be similarities but there really is very few similarities. It was again the reds that created the violence against peaceful protesters in 2014 that were NOT barricaded and were NOT armed (although they did arm themselves later on after they were bombed and shot at many times) and did not come to the protests with the mandate to burn down Bkk. The protesters in 2014 were the victims of red violence as were many innocents including many children that were again blown up by RPG's by the red thug terrorists.

How you can keep spinning this insane stupidity when the facts are right there for you to see is beyond reason. It just goes to show the true ignorance of the human race and leaves me with little hope of a sane future.

On Feb 2 the "peaceful" protesters were not so peaceful and stole an election.

Insults don't make you intelligent, just the last refuge of those who have run out of arguments. Like I said before, both sides are guilty of violence and inciting violence. Only someone who is morally bankrupt and lacking a moral compass tries to rationalize that one side was allegedly less violent and that gives them a moral high ground. This stance does show true ignorance, but you are obviously not bright enough to see your hypocrisy.

UDD, had never any concern about the dead.

They are just hypocrites trying to make it a political issue for their gains and have no respect about anything as they proved before.

It is a black moment for the Thai history and should not be used for political purposes, but have some respect for the deceased.

rubbish again costas they have turned this INTO a political football by denying people the right to mourn

show some respect for the deceased

One thing I will never respect is a red shirt. Dead or alive.

I doubt that they have much time for you either!

As you probably know I don't like the red shirts but I do like your response.

........................."except one side used pawns to get an election".........................

So you concede the people who perished in 2010 were sacrificed pawns ? As I have been saying for the past five years ?

As far as the innocent people who died on the public streets at the hands of the redshirts, a terrorist organization working on behalf of PTP, they were just plain murdered as far as I am concerned.

A disgrace to compare the two scenarios.

Typical response by those enamored by a junta government - only look at the facts that support a distorted world view.

The only disgrace is to justify one act of violence while condemning another based solely on who commits the violence. Hypocrisy at its worst.

If the government had been a little smart, they would have arranged a small commemoration and invited some red shirt leaders. Left politics out just for a day, and mourned the death of fellow Thais!!

That would have been a very wise thing to do. Compromise.

(This is why the current government desperately needs good PR advisers.)

Although, on second thoughts the PM would still have got castigated by TV members, for trying to appease the Reds by acting out of character.

I can see the "road to reconciliation" was only words with no actual intention to bring the opposition together. Why not let them have their 5 year remembrance? They could have let it happen and then say "see we do have compassion for all Thai's and want to bring the country back together". Now they have to take this as more "salt on the wound."

They made an exception for the protest at the American embassy so this will be seen to play more into the hands of the PTP as more double standards.

Red shirt leaders!! Jutaporn on bail for terrorism and the others who urged their supporters to burn Bangkok down??

So they were urging them to burn down all of Bangkok? I seem to remember them only mentioning the mall, which was next to the protest site and whose owners were vehement supporters of the yellow shirts.

@rixalex good find I concede your point and have not seen that before. One would have though they would have burned the place down after being slaughtered and only part of a mall was burned. I don't condone it by any means but the current treatment to them by the Junta is only deepening the divide.

How very Hi So of you? So you don't live on Issan then or have any Thai friends who voted PTP?

Very inflammatory post there indeed, very surprised it's been allowed to stay?

You may wish to take a gander at Arisaman's speech and then get back with us. It includes "bring 1 million empty bottles with you to BKK, we'll fill them there" (paraphrase)

Or the threats made from the stage in May 2010. You will certainly change your tune

What a shame they didn't burn down all of Bangkok!!

Maybe that would had been the wake-up call badly needed for the elite and their mighty sponsors to realize that their reign is way past the expiry date.

Jatuporn and Arisaman are were brave men, standing up for the people, who over and over again have seen their constitutionally cast votes being voided by the the judiciary and/or the army!!

Look at the present state of Thailand, a "government" trying its very best to reintroduce the good all feudal days, using the three cornerstones to keep people in "their" place.

Not normally an advocate of violence, but I can seriously understand the frustration of some people.

If the frustration some time in the future boils over and turns violent, the responsibility lies solely with elite,

because of their unwillingness to share the power and wealth with those it rightfully belongs to, the Thai people!!

Far more than "only part of a mall" was burned.

Were you in Thailand at the time?

Yes I was and I owned a shop in one of Central's owned mall at the time which had to close on that day so my memory is very clear. Thier protest area was confined on a public road. They did not take over airports, govermment buildings, and dump bodies off bridges. It is obious from you and your yellow supporters and Junta lovers that everything is Thaksins falt directly and thai people who support his policies cannot think for themselves and are just pawns who shot themselves. How dare they want to have a 5 year memorial!

The damage was confined to a very very small area.

Let me think who refused to pay the farmers for their rice and who paid them?
