Many online games are free. Those are the ones you must play while being connected. Nothing really to download. Some are not free.

I suggest you just google "Top ten games Online".

Others you have to purchase and download. They may or may not be online games (play with opponents over a connection.

Many sites (too many too list) will give you not only a review, but link you to the website where you can pay with a credit card and get an official copy. I think you want to download your own game, so you might want to read some reviews, and get some sources for downloading.

http://gamespot.com is one source

I used to try to find original games, at a software store. I suppose that if you went to any major computer shop at any major shopping mall, you could find an original game....overpriced. If not overpriced, the it surely is a copy. I asked somebody before if the game I wanted to buy was Original...and they said yes....original copy. I think we all know about those. Going to the Original website/ software developer gives you a great feeling of security. You just don't get the box. Also, if it crashes..or has other issues, they can help you with it. I have only owned a few games that I played more than a few times. One that I have is over 15 years old..and still good to play. "Rise of Nations"

Download Steam and buy your games there. You can access them from any computer with an internet connection, they often have sales and deals, and it makes it easy to play with friends.

I have an internet cafe which is mainly used for playing gam es.

Being i live in the North east the internet allthough is fibre optic often goes off. I've heard there is something like an inhouse cable or whatever it's called but anyway apparently it would enable even if the int goes off the games to still be played.

Could anyone enlighten me on that all comments very much appreciated thanks.

What is your idea of an Online Game that can be downloaded (original, not copies)?

Generally, online games refer to either

"Installed Games" where players can, using a common GameServer, meet up and play each other over a LAN or over the Internet [Player-to-Player, or Server-to-Multiplayers]

-- OR --

Runtime Coded Games where players use a web browser (or other lightweight 'client' software) that can download the latest version of the runtime game code from an special GameServer that the user's browser then renders into game video/audio while sending the user input back to the GameServer for single or multi-player interaction. The runtime code is meant to be temporary, replaced with a more recent version of the game each time, and the code cannot be saved and played offline.

But basically, online games refer to games that can only be played with an Internet Connection. No Internet Connection, game doesn't work.

+1 for steam. The sales are good sometimes, and paying in Baht gets you a better price than any other country - from what I have found.

If you have a decent PC you HAVE to get GTAV!!!!

The i27 game store at MBK has closed.

To my knowledge you can then only buy original boxed games at Zest (Fortune Town and Digital Gateway@Siam) and apt softpark (Fashion Island and Central Bangna)

+1 for Steam.

I can't actually remember the last time I bought a boxed game. Most online games are delivered digitally, and Steam is a good platform for buying them, and keeping them updated automatically.

Agree, it's good if you have a fast internet connection.

Trying to download a 7GB or similar at my apartment you can forget it.

Steam, Gog and hunble bundle they sell games (stand alone pc games sometimes u can play online with friends or strangers). If you want stand alone pc games or online games u can always search on search engine (e.g. google) to find their official sites and if free u can download directly or u have to pay the site will probably be able to direct u to the right place for purchasing a real copy

Do the games bought in Thailand have either thai subs or voice over in Thai? (Steam or original games bought)

AAA titles usually have options to choose language, that being said i have purchased BF1 while here in Thailand and it was in english.

EVE Online is epic if you want to play with adults and it is free now. If you like it and want to progress it can still be free by making in game currency and converting it to game time. It has a bit of a learning curve but is well worth it once you get established.

You can also try mobile games in Google Play. There are bunch of free online games there.

Thanks, I'm only after desktop games

I've gone off the idea of STEAM, I'm told that you can't save multiple levels of the same game as you go. (So if my kid and I are playing the same game, we can't play at our own rates and save as we go and has to be under each account and therefore buy the game twice). So it just means buying the originals in store on disc.

What kind of games do you like? If you like online games then take a look at Fortuna games. Personally I recommend to try Blackjack and Baccarat. You can find the registration guide on http://casinoglobal.info/ . All games are available in free mode, what is especially attractive for beginners, who want to gain experience and create their own strategy.

Thanks. I'm not too keen on those sorts of games. Just the action / role playing / storyline.

But anyway, I think I will just go buy what I can legally from an authorized store in Thailand and take it from there.

If you are looking for some games I might be able to hook you up with some games you might fancy, no pirate bs, and for free..

I got a few duplicates :P they would be on Steam

let me know if that's something you would be interested in

Thanks for the offer. But I need to be able to save progress for a few different users which i’m told above steam can’t do.

hmm, nothing to do with Steam itself, the game developers decide where the save games files go. it's on a per game basis

what you want to use in this case is the Steam Family sharing. only one person can access the library (games) at a time but the savegames are definitely split (if we are talking different computers here)

the only way the savegames would be "shared" is if you access a second Steam account while on the same computer and use the same game (depending on how the game was programmed) it might just be a local folder where it would fetch the games from

Steam Family sharing absolutely works, I have over 5000 games by now on Steam (yes) and my brother definitely has his own save games down in Canada, the cloud saves will not download between 2 accounts, only the local files with do that.y

you can even trick the system sometimes and play some of the games cooperatively even if you just own one copy on Steam.

otherwise, finding triple A quality games on disk? unlikely to happen, you will most likely just end up with a Steam installer and a steam code in the box :P
