Retirement visa first time

Featured Replies

I want to make retirement visa for the first time, as I reach the old age enough for this visa.

For the first time make this new visa at embassy, the money needs to be on account 2 months or 3 months?

Also what document from bank need to use? The saving account bank book is ok? Or the bank need issue some kind of letter?

All the above documents need bring to embassy in Vientane Lao, is it good place to make the new retirement visa?

Thank you

You will be applying for a single entry non-o visa for being 50 or over for retirement in Vientiane.

All you need to show is the 800k baht in the bank by showing your bank book. It does not need to be there for 2 months.

Then after you get the visa and enter the country you will apply for an extension of stay based upon retirement at immigration during the last 30 days of the 90 entry the visa will give you. You will need a letter from the bank to prove the 800k baht balance and your bank book to prove it has been in the bank for 2 months on the date you apply.

If the OP has a Thai wife an alternative (and possibly simpler) option open to him would be to obtain a non-O visa for marriage at the Thai Consulate in Savannakhet, Laos PDR.

What happened to your extension based on working?

Or has your employment ended?
