Appeals court rejects bail for ex-chairman of Klongchan credit union co-op

BANGKOK: -- The Appeals Court on Thursday rejected bail for former chairman of Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative Mr Supachai Srisupa-aksorn for fear that he might interfere with witnesses in the embezzlement case he was charged with.

Mr Supachai’s lawyer, Mr Wanchai Bunnag posted a land title deed worth about 3.5 million baht to bail out his client but this was turned down by the court. The Criminal Court earlier rejected the bail.

The court’s rejection of the bail request means that Mr Supachai will remain in custody until Monday when the 12-day detention period is due to expire.

The former chairman of Klongchan credit union is facing embezzlement charge for allegedly misappropriated about 27 million baht from the cooperative.

Well done to the court!!

Finally a normally "untouchable" denied bail!!

But 12 day detention expires on monday, then what, can he get out

But 12 day detention expires on monday, then what, can he get out

I somehow doubt he will be let out as the is also accused of another embezzlement case involving 13 billion which has been sent to the prosecutors.

He will be in court again either before or on the 12th day and again bail will be denied.

Good !!!!!!!!

Monday is Songkran - and then can he just walk as detention time up and guessing courts not open?

Ehh, 27 mio baht?

I thought about 12 billion baht disappeared!bah.gif

At least they didn't let him out on bail, he shall rot in prison forever!

You can't tell me, that one man managed to steal 12 billion baht out of 31 billion all by his little ole self. And nobody noticed. ?? the mind boggles.
