A pedophile is someone who is sexually attracted to prepubescent children (either boys or girls or both). There are other names for people who are attracted sexually to children who have or are going through puberty.

So no there is no difference if a pedophile is attracted to boys or girls - it's got to do with the stage of the child's development (prepubescent).

I have worked with victims is this area (among others) for over 15 years.

I know there are a lot of teachers on this forum and I would like to ask you a question. How wary are you in your dealings with your charges that you ensure that an allegation of sexual misconduct cannot be levelled against you? I ask this because the Teachers Union in the UK is very concerned about the number of false allegations made against teachers, often called 'revenge allegations'.
