Most forum topics here have TVers slagging Thai males, Thai politicians, Thai police, Thai taxi drivers. Now in this one, we see a fair number slagging--that's an 'L', not 'H'--Thai women... saying that they're dumb, boring, conniving, age poorly etc. Really dumbfounds me why they are here. [And no, this is not an "if you don't like, why don't you leave" post -- I had simply assumed that all the Thai-haters were here for the ladies]

p.s. I used to find Thai women very attractive until a couple of years back when they started painting their eyebrows to look bushier than a man's -- I can't wait for that fashion to pass. Started in Vietnam some years earlier, and they seem to have gotten over it.

You mean eyebrows like the lady below?

Oh No not another bloke!!

How do you call these androgynous folks? Boyladies?

Brooke Shields

By the age of 16, Shields had become one of the most recognizable faces in the world, because of her dual career as a provocative fashion model and controversial child actress.[1]Time magazine reported, in its February 9, 1981, cover story, that her day rate as a model was $10,000. In 1983, Shields appeared on the cover of the September issue of Paris Vogue, the October and November issues of American Vogue and the December edition of Italian Vogue

After two decades of movies, her best known films are still arguably The Blue Lagoon (1980), which included nude scenes between teenage lovers on a tropical island (Shields later testified before a U.S. Congressional inquiry that older body doubles were used in some of them), and Endless Love (1981). The MPAA initially rated Endless Love with an X rating. The film was re-edited to earn an R rating.[33] She won the People's Choice Award in the category of Favorite Young Performer in four consecutive years from 1981 to 1984. In 1998, she played a lesbian, Lily, in The Misadventures of Margaret.[34]

Just remember

What you don't see in these gorgeous perfections of femininity,

Is who is counting on her to get you to bite the hook....

Yours truly

So I guess the one actually doing the fishing is the family, and the

lovely daughter is just the bait......cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Re Thai eyebrows. Seems that many have had the good fortune to have missed this new fashion. The following two pics of my gf were taken a day apart. The first is how she likes to do her eyebrows. The second is what I now insist on when we're together. She and her friends weren't doing this when we met four years ago. Can't wait for them to over it. [When I travel in SE Asia, I can spot a Thai just based on their eyebrows!]

Brooke Shields on Her Famous Eyebrows,

Agree about eyebrow excesses - but the photo is not Brooke Shields? I think it's of Kara Delevigne?

10,000 $ a day in 1981? Good price. How much do they pay for a Thai model?

$10,000 in 1981 would be $27,208.80 (almost 1 million baht) in today's prices. I think Thai models are less. Green job thinks she looks like a male. $27,208 is not bad for a girl who looks like a guy.

Beautiful women everywhere and in the eye of the beholder, but in the eye of this beholder who has traveled all over the world Thailand does seem to have been blessed in this regard.

I guess we all agree that the women here are better than the music.

Not my cup of tea,,, too much tar brush

Green job, you have already contributed tremendously to my English language skills by explaining "flight recorder" and "black box".

Could you please explain that last remark as well?

Every time these thread pop up all I see are unattractive substandard bleached creations from the surgeons office. The only time there was a beutiful one was when HardenedSoul posted a pic of an Isaan queen and guess what .. I found the thread but the pic is gone ( http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/577081-too-many-chinese-and-eurasian-faces-on-thai-media/page-2#entry5581562 ). Typical, I guess the fellas want to keep the good ones all to themselves.

Yes, music with those quarter tones that sound so weird to most Farangs.

Electric guitar, bass and drums for the jam session.

Not only on the beach, also in Old Bangkok (near Chanasokram Temple)

Unfortunately no recording of this.
